This kinda made me chuckle.

ESPN looks at 10 teams who could win the NCAA title. It's the same as the AP and coaches' Top 10. Way to go out on a limb.

I realize the women's tourney is typically not as wide-open as the men's, but still ...

ESPN is garbage lol

FYI,

ESPN's Wright Thompson (a really good writer) takes a really, really, really deep dive into Caitlin Clark.

I get a little tired of ESPN's overblown love of CC, but it'll probably be very good. I haven't read it yet -- it's very, very long -- but plan to.

Virginia Tech coach Kenny Brooks leaving Blacksburg for Kentucky.

Sorta feel sorry for the Hokies. Went to the Final Four last year and were a Top 10 team this year when Elizabeth Kitley (6-foot-6 first-team All-American), who had come back for a fifth year, tore her ACL in early March. That killed any chance for another deep NCAA run -- and now they've lost their coach.

Brooks is a class act, though, and a great coach. Wouldn't be surprised if he has the UK women soaring in a few years.

First half vs Colorado Caitlin Clark has pushed off two times on offense to drive once and create separation once for no calls.

Tennessee looking for a new Ladies basketball coach.  Tennessee Ladies Vols blog all over the place.

Even mentioned Jacks/Syracuse who has won at Buffalo and Syracuse but not at IU.  AD probably already has replacement in mind even though not sure about search.

IU has an excellent distinguished thing going and make sure T. Moren is well cared for.

During March Madness I noticed that several teams in elite 8 have around a decade between appearances.

Tennessee fires Kellie Harper -- one of their own.

Was 108-52 in five years (almost 22 wins a season) at Knoxville, which isn't bad. Went to the Sweet 16 twice.

Seems as if the Lady Vols are a bit like our men's program -- forever searching for Pat Summitt's replacement, like us with RMK. First up was Summitt's top assistant. No. 2 in line was Harper, the former star player who was supposed to return the program to greatness.

Wonder if they'll go "outside the family" this next time? Probably not. Early indications are they'll target Kara Lawson of Duke -- a former Lady Vols' star.

BTW, Harper's winning percentage at Tennessee (.675) was better than at any of her previous three stops (Western Carolina, N.C. State, Missouri State)
