I just came across this article on MSN.  It shows we have offered around 20-30 2025 players and 12 of them are 5 stars. After this year, I really don’t care about the rankings as much anymore; however, I do care if they fit IU’s style of play, which we are all confused on that, have a will to win, have a toughness about them, can shoot, have good fundamentals and have a team first attitude.  Most of these 5 star recruits have 1 agendas and that is getting to the NBA as quickly as possible.  I just wish Woodson would stop recruiting that way.

I think our philosophy is recruit these 5-star players and build a relationship. Even if they don't choose us initially, we have a relationship to sign them out of the transfer portal in the future.

Rabjohns reports Woody and Walsh are at Broad Ripple HS watching the OTE games that feature several IU targets.

Was hoping to see 1 of them tomorrow, though tonight’s games probably work better for them.

Rivals Update of their ‘25 6-10. Notable that all 5 kids have IU offers, though it’s probably fair to assume the serious ones at this point are Haralson, Tiller and maybe Acuff.

Side note: since we’re in the wild speculation business these days, the kids with Auburn offers are: Wilson, Tiller, Thomas and Haralson.

Last weekend an event in California called WestMania was presented by MADE Hoops.  Rob Cassidy did a summary earlier today and a new name popped up reportedly with IU interest.  Winters Grady a 6'7" SF attends Prolific Prep.

Grady is a shooter’s shooter and showed just how lethal he can be from deep on Friday night, as his 3-point snipping almost single handedly kept Jalen Green Elite in the game against Arizona Unity. The four-star guard is more than just a specialist, however, as he flashed a high-level motor and some toughness on the defensive end, where he made physical plays and routinely contested shots at the rim. Grady has become a much more apt shot creator in the last year and has proven his skill set goes well beyond being a reliable catch-and-shoot option. Currently ranked as the No. 66 prospect in the Rivals150, Grady could leap into the top 40 or so if he continues on his current trajectory.

Recruitment: UCLA, Oregon and Indiana are all involved with Grady as things stand but it seems likely that new programs will push into the fray this summer. Washington has also offered, but it’s unclear how hard the Huskies are pushing at the time.

He plays AAU on the 3SSB circuit for Jalen Green (CA) and at the event held a week ago he averaged 23.8 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 1.8 APG, 1.0 SPG

Shot lights out at the Chipotle Nationals. Hair trigger release and NBA range. Kind of a 1 trick pony on offense, but if you're gonna have 1 trick he's got the right one. Should be able to defend and competed hard.

Celtics are obviously much, much better than the Heat without Jimmy Butler, but watching that second quarter yesterday I was thinking: Sam Hauser and Payton Pritchard are a great reminder that if you can shoot and try on defense, you’ll get on the floor and have a chance to help your team more than many flashier guys

With the current rules or lack thereof relative to the portal have to think that high school kids won't necessarily be the focus of attention they once were.

Fran Fraschilla @franfraschilla

One Power 6 head coach told me that, with the transfer portal, he’s not recruiting high school guys this summer. He will leave it to the assistant coaches. “The only thing that will suffer will be my Marriott points,” he said.

Couple of interesting things here:

1) Apparently, Sisley, Mullins and Moreno are trying to coordinate their official visits together.

2) I’d be curious to hear this in full context, but Moreno suggests that he’s being sold on walking in and starting. That might well happen strictly on merit, but I don’t remember any other recruit specifically suggest they were promised anything.

"Hey Malachi - Ballo will be gone and Hatton will be gone. Heck, Malik might jump too! So, you'll get $500k in NIL and if you're good enough, a featured starting spot on a team with national exposure and many top tier guards that are likely to stay."

Not a bad pitch at all.

Not at all. It’s probably exactly what the pitch should be. But that’s a touch different than the way I read it.

Mike with his latest update. Excellent, as always. One thing with Haralson:  Mike lists him as a combo guy/wing, which is probably accurate in reality, but he has intimated several times in interviews that the staff is pitching him as a primary facilitator and that seems to be his role in EYBL this spring.

I think with him going to Prolific Prep next year it would be a great foot in the door at that "school."

Cassidy’s thoughts on IU’s ‘25 prospects. Nothing terribly new but a perspective from outside the cocoon is usually at least a little interesting.
