Mildly interesting that I see repeated references to us watching and keeping in contact with him but we already have 8 outstanding offers to guards in the '25 class.

Recruits Zone  --  2025 prospect Azavier Robinson is one to keep an eye on in the future. Home state schools including Purdue and Indiana are yet to offer Robinson, but he holds offers from Arizona St, Illinois, Oklahoma St, Notre Dame, & more. Averaged 20+ PPG last season. Legit 2-way player.

If there is 1 thing we can say pretty certainly at this point, a Woodson guard is a big, physical, downhill type, Cupps being an outlier. Would think if he’s going to offer an exception, like Fland, they better have some other special traits.

Like Old Fart, I’ve been curious about this too and I think you’ve nailed it. They’re clearly curious, since they keep watching. A late 3 inch growth spurt is the other thing that would probably change things.

For whatever it’s worth, he seems to rebound well for his size, which is surely worth something, but also probably not enough on its own to overcome the size for IU’s sake.

I’ve not watched a second of Robinson, no thoughts on him, but I wonder if it isn’t that, while Woody clearly isn’t married to local talent, he understands that if there’s a big-time kid in central Indiana, he needs to go to IU. If they believe that Robinson has some projectability they want to be in a position to capitalize should he pop. Same deal with Dezmon Briscoe. Personally, I don’t believe in falling in love with exceptions. Define your fits and recruit to them.

Maybe a little overkill?   Attends Butler County HS in Morgantown, KY.

Pretty misleading since most of those are "interests". His only 2 offers, per 247, are Mississippi State and Texas A&M Corpus Christi.

Unranked 6-0, 160 lb PG.

247 is probably misleading on his size, too, though at that age he could certainly still be growing. But, watched a couple of his games 1 night after he visited Bloomington last winter and he was tiny. Would have guessed 5’9”, 5’10” tops. But, he had crazy deep range and was really clever with the ball. Played zero defense. He was a fun watch, but he‘s about as anti-Wooodson as you can get.

You just wonder if Mike Woodson will be able to get kids out of the clutches of the...University of South Dakota.

Careful. He’ll probably go somewhere like Belmont, drop like 35 in a Conference championship game on ESPN2 his senior year, and we’ll end up with a 10 page thread on how Woody passed on Ty Price.

Rob Cassidy on Tyler Jackson from this past weekend at the Will Barton Elite Camp in Maryland.

What he did: Jackson is constantly forcing action when he’s on the floor and dictates pace as well as any guard in the class. He’s still improving when it comes to decision-making, but he's already a true three-level scorer that has developed a pretty reliable floater to go along with his shooting ability and knack for finishing at the rim. He’s undoubtedly one of the top guards in the 2025 class and looked the part for most of the event on Saturday. He’s still limited a bit defensive because he lacks truly ideal size, but he’ll be able to give a team a little more on that end as he adds muscle down the road.

Recruitment: Jackson is yet to set any junior year visits but expressed interest in touring both Kansas and LSU. Syracuse, Indiana and Seton Hall are also worth monitoring the visit front. Kentucky recently reached out but is yet to offer Jackson a scholarship.

Cassidy on Nate Ament at the same event.

What he did: Ament’s eye-opening summer continued on Saturday, as the 6-foot-7 wing showed off a sweet shooting stroke from 3-point range. His combination of jumper and size make him a matchup problem and will provide whichever school he chooses with a versatile tool capable of impacting games from nearly every spot on the floor. His ceiling is as high as almost any other prospect in the 2025 class, as 6-foot-7 shooters with above average ability to grow on trees.

Recruitment: Ament is set to visit Duke, Iowa and Virginia and in the coming months. He also says that Indiana and LSU are in frequent contact.
