Way to avoid the question posed.  I’m not ok with the above. However, I know people can grow and advance in their careers. Everyone is drooling over Stevens, if Moser makes another Final Four this year his last 4 years will be on par with Stevens at Butler.

Okay, fine, let’s look at his last four years. Two tournament appearances in the last four seasons. Last year they went 21-11 and lost in the first round of their conference tournament. The year before that, he went 20-14, lost his conference tournament, and then lost in the first round of the NIT.

Making the final four in 2018 was great. But we should know as well as anyone that teams can catch fire and make a deep tournament run. Mike Davis took IU all the way to the NCAA championship game. You could remove Moser’s first 13 seasons and I still wouldn’t be interested.

More like a few stiff drinks after the past half decade of IU basketball. I’m so adamant against this hire because I want IU to be elite and I want us to start acting elite. I want other schools’ reaction to be “oh s***” instead of laughter. Hiring Moser... Not elite.

With all due respect to HF2017 we are not going from this dumpster fire to elite over night. It will take time, probably longer than any of us old guys want, but the game has evolved with much better talent in the last 10-15 years.

Question is, who can build that elite culture, and expectations of winning each and every night out? IMO it will take a special kind of personality to do so, along with great coaching skills.

I can guarantee you whoever plays ULC next will be saying "Oh S**t" before (and probably after the game). We'll see.

Unfortunately you don’t become elite by saying you’re elite.  You need to start winning games and championships over a sustained period.  Starts with a coach that can over achieve to build the program.

Money rules everything in college athletics. The easiest way to become elite is to open up the checkbook and pay for it. I’m posting under the assumption that Dolson is operating with a pretty large checkbook. If he is, there’s no reason we can’t land an elite coach. Moser is the way you go if you run out of other options.

I don’t think our AD is going to make a decision anytime soon.  I would hope that he’s in Indiana and watching all these games through a microscope.  Then wait a couple of weeks to analyze everything.

Glass tried opening up the checkbook (to an extent) with Miller by making him the 8th-highest paid coach in the NCAA at the time of his hire. Unfortunately, giving AM an elite (at the time) salary didn't make him an elite coach.

Nor does offering an elite salary this time around guarantee that an elite coach will say "yes" to IU. Hope so, but I won't be shocked if, when the dust settles, Dolson also has to settle--for someone like Fife or Moser (although if they're smart Minny might hire Moser as soon as Loyola's eliminated).

Glass didn’t really open up the checkbook for Archie. We gave him pretty much the same salary that we were giving Tom Crean. $3.35 million to Crean’s $3.2 million. I’m talking a $6-7 million contract for this coach. That’d be a substantial increase for pretty much all our targets.

Obviously Moser will get a chance somewhere but this feels like mid major flavor of the month. Did that last time. I expect we will hire a proven guy this go around.

If it’s between Thad Matta, Mike Woodson, or porter Moser. I’m picking Porter every time
