Could be. How long will it take him to learn lessons at the B1G level as a newcomer?

Your big on outside perception.  What would the perception be if Moser turned down the IU job to stay at Loyola or took the Creighton job instead of IU

IUs perception is reaching the bottom of the barrel by blue blood standards anyway.  So either we pony up and get a intimidating, statement splash, or we continue to act like a non Blue Blood program and hire the next non power 5 up and comer and don’t separate from the pack.

What happened at Illinois State?

Nothing good.

The thing about Moser for me is that I wouldn’t be interested in him if his last four years were his only four years. We just got done getting burned by a mid major up and comer. I don’t want to do that all over again right after, no matter how different from Archie Moser might be.

Add in his other 13 seasons and I have absolutely zero interest in him at all.

Probably less than a coach who has already coached and recruited at a power 5 level.  That’s my suspicion.

Depends on if they are allowed to recruit how they recruited before.   For instance does Oats get to bring Hodgson with him to IU and does he get to recruit like he does at Bama.     When Slater drops the total culture change for Bama and points out Hodgson and Oats together as sharks. Not sure that’s going to fly at IU

And if you pony up and no one comes that would be an intimidating slash time to call it a day?

Sure. And if that holds true, Indiana will need another Miracle. IE-Zeller, Oladipo type finds.

Gonna be a challenge for Indiana if we don’t at least level the playing field.  It’s like playing poker with 4 cards and expecting to win.

Wayne, I encourage you to watch some Loyola film. if you haven't...honestly, I like a lot of their sets. Far from anything you've seen at IU in quite awhile.
