I did it in 2:20 once. There may or may not have been traffic violations and performance enhancers involved. Either way, the statute of limitations has well expired on that ride.

The thing I remember most about my CFP experience was the drive from the 465 interchange to South Bend taking what felt like 8 years. Bloomington to there under 2.5 is insane and I'm assuming that's pre-Kokomo bypass?

I would be surprised if IU hired someone who was on an FBI wiretap for the biggest hire in the history of their storied program.

The number of people who are aware that IU is a storied program is dwindling every day. The last national title occurred when I was in Jr. High school. I'm a grandfather now. IU is going to have to get real about bringing the program back to respectability, and sometimes that means taking risks that you otherwise wouldn't. That's not to say that I'm a Wade fan, just that I don't feel IU is in a position to turn their nose up at any really good coach.

This board will break if there was a picture of Brad in Bloomington haha

I can see it now… A photo of Brad and his father with Cig at the football stadium. Brad captions the photo “Thank you coach Cignetti for hosting me and my father, IUFB class of 19XX. We love Hoosier football and being massholes!”

Forgetting inside info, whispers or anything like that (it’s very fun to read this stuff though), I hang my hat on my own bias combined with my business logic. I don’t think there is much of a chance that Dolson got IU and donors to agree that Woodson is gone, but then ends up with a coach that many, if not a majority, of fans say….WTF? I’m not saying it’ll be Stevens. But to say that IU isn’t going to get any of the top tier guys given how this has played out seems….strange. Maybe the big money would be happy with McCollum. Just don’t see it.

Yeah, but I don't think he ever landed a recruit so there was no reason to go after him further.

Will Wade was also never implicated by the FBI. Turns out, committing an NCAA violation isn't against the law. The guy on the other end of the phone however was implicated on bribery charges. Will Wade did what 50 other coaches did a year back then but because he was at LSU (a non-basketball school), young, and hadn't made a name for himself....the NCAA decided to make an example out of him.

Nothing happened (from the NCAA) to Sean Miller who was also caught on wire tap facilitating payments to DeAndre Ayton nor Bill Self after TJ Gassnola provided evidence on the witness stand facilitating payments to Billy Preston.

I don't think UCLA is going to voluntarily lower his buyout without pushback, no. But Cronin, via his agent and lawyer, has a legitimate case to sue UCLA because nothing in his current contract when he signed his extension says anything about UCLA switching conferences and flying 2000 miles and being on the road for a week at a time every other week. Rather than going to court, UCLA could ultimately agree to a reduced buyout.

I respectfully disagree that this argument is legally persuasive.

Forget IU’s history. Being able to offer a top salary, top NIL, good assistant coach fund….thats attractive. And if there is a top coach who doesn’t want to coach at IU because the expectations are too high, then don’t want him. If anything, our expectations have been too low. No top basketball or football program would put up with the mediocre results we have produced. The situation is set for a coach to come in, make a crap ton of money, and become a coaching legend.

How is it not? There's a ton of language in his current contract for retention and bonuses based on success and results in the PAC 12, a now defunct conference. There is absolutely grounds to not only rework his contract but completely void it.

Silly
