I know so many insiders said that Quinn Buckner forced Woody on Dolson, but they also said that Stevens was happening.

I believe nothing about the Quinn story too.

Dolson hired Woody.  He better get this one right or he's done in my eyes

Fife also said he didn’t think Dolson had final say in hiring Woodson.   That had been reported by various outlets and people just not message board insiders.

Are you for real?  I hope you are kidding!  That ship has sailed!  I as skeptical but all the smoke got me pumped and now this is a let down.

That was the title of the book. So yes joking

Couldn’t agree more. Winning fixes everything. If beard would come in and restore the program, which I think he would, many fans would forget about his past quickly.

Until he finds The Bluebird, The Vid, Nick’s, etc.

I’m not ignoring football, but he’s not hiring a football coach. Everything basketball-related has been a disaster during his tenure. He’s got good PR with the “I wasn’t allowed to do my job” stuff, but at the end of the day, he’s the AD. The buck stops with him. The “they didn’t let me do my job” stuff just tells me he’s a yes men who’s afraid to make waves.

Not everything basketball related has been a disaster.

IUWBB and Coach Moren have put together a pretty impressive run

….not to drag this out, but Brad really didn’t say anything he wasn’t supposed to say in that supposed “sourced” statement to Goodman.

There was nothing quoted from Brad saying he was interested in the IU job nor did it say he was not taking it. He just said what he is supposed to say at the appropriate time while still employed by the Celtics.
Look, Im not saying we are still getting Brad because it’s always been a huge long shot.
I’m just saying things are eerily quiet! The only noise is all the “told you so people”!

This statement came out of left field today when things with Brad appeared to be close to the goal line. Something just seem very odd.

We’ve been through this.  I don’t get why people think a new AD was going to overrule the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and our biggest donor.  They can stop the AD from hiring who he wants and cut off our NIL/donations.  Scott could have made a wave… and they would have ended his career and still hired Woody.

He lived to fight another day and now he has power.  This hire is all on him and he should get all the blame or credit.

Scott made the safe decision for his own career. I’m not going to fault a guy for taking the self-preservation route. Dolson’s gotta eat too. But I’m also not going to have any faith in the guy after that either. Sure, he did what they told him to do and hired Woodson as a fresh new AD. What’s the excuse for retaining him for a fourth season when he allegedly had Pearl/May lined up? Pearl has the #1 team in the country, and May has the #1 team in the conference. Combined with IUFB in the playoffs, Buckner wouldn’t have been able to do anything but shout into the clouds.

Dolson again made the safe decision for his pocketbook, not the best decision for IU basketball. Now both coaches are likely out of the picture along with BS.

Media folks I know confirm he is a “no.”  Stinks.

Quinn and Ferguson were the issue last year.  Idk what to tell you they are powerful.  The football success had not happened yet, Scott didn’t have that political capital and track record at the time.

At least Scott had the right idea after last season when literally no one else at IU did.

Get mad at him if you want.  No one else at IU has a clue what they’re doing so we have to hope he does.

I prefer Dusty to Greg and Mark.

All are significant upgrades, but I like that Dusty is 12 - 14 years younger.

I like that took over an FAU team with no resources and created a program. Not a one year wonder.

Also, in the last three years he won the C-USA and went to the FF, then placed second in the AAC and returned to the tourney, and now he has UM competing for a B1G title with a bunch of new kids he had to recruit with UM's restrictions.
