I wouldn't call Knecht a loss because we we not really involved with him

To each their own. We wanted to be involved. So I guess it’s a quick L on this one.

Maybe we still get a better player somewhere, I’m not saying we won’t, but recruitng is a lot of L’s and much fewer wins. It’s still an L, if the staff wanted him.  How impactful of an L we won’t know.

How do you or any of us really knows how much we want a recruit. Just because we reached out doesn't mean that we totally went all out for a recruit

How do you know the momentum is gone? That is purely conjecture on your part. I don't know if it is or not , but we are only 2-3 weeks from the end of the season.

Struggling to get recruits while looking at having a worse season. Seems like textbook lost momentum

I guess current players can't develop and the new players can't be better than expected.  I have seen teams lose great players and we're better without them.  I am not saying we will but it is possible and rather look for positives instead of always looking for negatives. Purdue lost Ivey a top 5 pick plus two there starters and they ended up having a better year.

When was the last time we saw meaningful amount of develop from our staffs. Crean would be my answer and that’s sad

On that’s status of “easier to sell to” regarding recruitments  and programs. Who has a better program between Indiana and Houston? Houston was a perennial dumpster for 40 years up until recently.

FYI - NIL top 10 numbers just came out from March Madness and Indiana had 3 or 4 of the top 10. Impressive.

3 of the top 10:

#9 JHS

#8 Berger

#5 TJD

This would seem to show that there is NIL money available at IU.

There was a player a while back by the name of Trayce Jackson-Davis who developed into a player of the year under this staff.

A lot the last couple of years. What does coaches before Woodson has to do with player development with these players. I would say TJD improved his overall game immensely the last two years. I thought JHS improved throughout the year. Galloway develop an outside shot last off season. I thought XJ really improved the last half of last year and if not for an injury would have gotten even better this year.  I saw improvement from Kopp this past year especially on the defensive end..

I get it some people with look at a glass half empty where others see the same glass as half full.  I just don't get why people 7 months from the season is already looking at things as doom and gloom.  For me looking at things like that would be a lousy way to live

Seems like Trey Galloway learned a jump shot that no one ever thought he would have and Xavier Johnson went from out of control to a reliable point guard.

TJD was a stud from day one.  How about a non contributor who became one layer in his career

Correct…and those numbers were for March Madness. Imagine if we had made it deeper in the tournament. I suspect those three could’ve been numbers 1, 2, 3.

I am glad some of you doom and gloom guys weren't Kansas St fans because your head would have exploded last summer. They fired their coach and everyone but two players left the program. On July 2nd they had two players on their roster and hit the portal and none of them wete consdired big time players. The one that might have been hadn't played for two years because he collapsed and almost died on the court

If you can't see the improvement of his overall game the last two years then you don't know what you are watching.
