3 of the top 10:

#9 JHS

#8 Berger

#5 TJD

This would seem to show that there is NIL money available at IU.

Correct…and those numbers were for March Madness. Imagine if we had made it deeper in the tournament. I suspect those three could’ve been numbers 1, 2, 3.

I am glad some of you doom and gloom guys weren't Kansas St fans because your head would have exploded last summer. They fired their coach and everyone but two players left the program. On July 2nd they had two players on their roster and hit the portal and none of them wete consdired big time players. The one that might have been hadn't played for two years because he collapsed and almost died on the court

TJD was a stud from day one.  How about a non contributor who became one layer in his career

If you can't see the improvement of his overall game the last two years then you don't know what you are watching.

Of course he improved. But we aren’t needing them to make a contributor better. We need them to make complete non factor players into quality starters. It’s not the same thing.

Im a married man with 2 kids but I’m not blind. Trey Galloway is most definitely more than a one layer.

I love Trey but as we saw against Miami if he’s a guy we are playing as a starter we are doomed to being outclassed

Knecht may commit tonight.  Maybe to Tennessee.  Maybe to Oregon.  Maybe he doesn't commit for a week, maybe he ends up at neither place.  I do know that these are the same people on the Tennessee board that were saying Ledlum was not coming to Tennessee.

I predict that Knecht will commit to some school!

Well how about Galloway, XJ improvement through this first year. Kopp got better on tbe defensive end

I know you look at things that fit your narrative about how bad this program is going to be but let's look at things objectively. Next year might be a disaster but at this time no one knows how this team will develop.

We won't replace TJD production but if can be more of a balance team offensively and the team gells we can win in other ways.

All 3 of those guys were contributors before this year.  And out of those only xj is a starter on a good team. So not great proof of development

I can’t believe what I am reading in this thread with all the doom and gloom!

Last I looked, Joe Lunardi still has us a tournament team next year!  Also, if X gets approved to play next year, we will have 4 really nice pieces to the puzzle as Woodson would say, and if Banks, Newton, or Gunn could give us minutes, along with Sparks, we could be competitive.  Now I don’t predict us to be a top 25 team just yet but I do think we could be a top 50 team and a tournament team.  Finally, landing Ware was a great get by this staff and the portal wasn’t a total failure, like some have said.  We will land somebody, it’s a matter of who and what position.  Everyone, quit falling off the cliff!

SMH, now you are moving the goal post. First you said you haven't seen player development for a long time. We have proved that wrong so now you are saying guys who didn't play much. I don't know how old you are but there was a time that freshman couldn't play. Also back in the day freshman wasn't expected to play much and be a key player. For a long time you see freshman make a big jump as sophomores even when they saw limited action. I see guys like Banks, Gunn and Ware show great improvement from their first season.  I think if healthy , Newton will contribute and Cupps will as well. We also have plenty of time to bring in a few more players.

I would truly hate to live the way some of these guys look at things. I am not saying everything is great and we will have a great season.  On April 21st it is way to early to be stressing this much about next season

These are the same people that will start calling us National Champions if Cupps talks Bronny James to come to IU, lol!

I mean.. I would definitely take Bronny. Could you imagine the impact of having LeBron in Assembly Hall?
