Every time we lose out on someone, people feel the need to make the team we loss to inferior to us. Knoxville is FAR from Hillbilly.

I have no idea. Where?

I agree, Z had more of wiggle to him. He could contort his body more effectively than Kopp can during a shot attempt. Plus again, his trigger is just miles quicker.

I don't look at recruit rankings, basically ever.

And yes, of course, it was a more modern team, but again.. PLENTY of ppl on here HATED it.. That isn't news, and it isn't some knock on Woodson and staff that you think it is. You don't remember "we shoot too many 3s" or "live by the 3, die by the 3" comments during the Crean years?

Good description, was having a difficult time describing the differences. I don't think Zeisloft was even that wiggly or slippery either it's just that Kopp stood there a good portion of the time.

I didn't like that we were so reliant on the 3 but didn't like that we basically never shot it this past season. There is a balance for the season, game to game, and even within a game.

There isn't just 1 thing that has contributed to us not winning like we want to.

First thing I blame was President Herbert making the AD hire Sampson over Beilein

I blame RMK not being able to control himself

I blame the AF for hiring Miller who I was against hiring in the first place.

I blame fans for turning on coaches to early which I believe effects recruiting.

I think over zealous fans contacting recruits on social media isn't helpful

A quick list of people

- President
- Coach
- AD (I think?)
- Fans

What order would you put those in?

Ehh.. I loved the way Creans teams played. Wanted a better defensive version of them, but the way they played offense was absolutely awesome.

It's also significant to note that Zeisloft made 37% of his threes at Illinois State his freshman and sophomore year but 43% his junior and senior years at IU despite tougher competition.  There is something to be said for multiple shooters making each other better.

And having 5 future NBA players around you that the defense is focused on.

That team had way more talent than this years, it's not really close.

Loved the spacing and pacing, transition was great, and defense left a lot to be desired. I didn't like that we were turrrrble against certain types of teams or would just fall flat in half court sets at times. I was hoping we'd see a more dynamic offense under Woody.

We need more dynamic personnel. But, we're no less than a 3 seed year two if XJ isn't hurt. More than pleased with that with how poor the roster was under Archie/how bad it was when he left.

We had a good season. First time we can say that in awhile.

Definitely a solid season, a T2 finish in a decent Big 1.o, another semi-final appearance in the conference tourney, and a win in the first round of the tourney. We hadn't made it to back to back tourneys in 10 years. It's amazing when you really look at what IU has been the past two decades.

They were going after the media market that included a very large number of collective alumni from Big Ten universities. Rutgers was the avenue to that.

That was a mistaken play. To wit my Florida example. Lots of alumni. Didn’t need a FL university added to that media market. It was foolish to believe we needed Rutgers.  We can agree to disagree tho.

Back to Ledlum, this started as me saying we’re lucky to be in the Big Ten given the state of our 2 major revenue sports in response to people blaming our recruiting woes on being part of the Big Ten.

Nobody was complaining about the B1G when we landed Ware. It’ll be interesting to hear Ledlum’s post mortum on why he chose Tennessee. I bet it has to do with fit and coaching staff, like most guys, moreso than anything university or conference related.

Quality post and food for thought.
