Any interest from his end? I recall a post saying we were talking with him and wanted a reclass but not sure if interest is mutual. Haven't seen our name mentioned.

The only visit he’s taken is Duke and for a long time he had shockingly few offers because the assumption was they’d be wasting their time. We’ll see.

Maybe he'll pay us a visit with his Montverde buddies/teammates in September

I doubt that because I don't think it is a coincidence that he announces he is reclassifying a week after visiting Duke

Nah, pretty sure he's all Duke.

Hard not to be excited about the potential.

sign an amazing class first then we can all debate if you can win in 2024 with a majority freshman group of starters.  Lol.

Honestly though, the talent of our current team on paper, is very impressive and nearly as impressive as the forecasted class.

This is such a ridiculous thing to look at. If you include Cooper Flagg, since he can have his pick, There are 5 kids in that picture with standing IU offers and 3 others who will almost certainly get them. Playing on a single high school level team, even if that’s not really what it is.

Been sort of watching this one for a while. Played with Isaiah Collier/Arrinten Page at Wheeler as a Soph. Played AAU with 1-time IU offeree William Jobe. Never offered despite being very good. Has spent the last couple of years on the Trentyn Flowers tour of High Schools and AAU programs. At IMG this year, which is his 4th school in 4 years. ASU looks a little out of place here, so that’s probably the one.

Trilly said ASU is hiring a close contact of Ali’s. Funny how that works.

I guess. But isn't that not how it works now? Why not just give the player a large NIL deal and let him share it with whoever he pleases?

Does the kid need someone on the court and in the locker room with him to be satisfied? f so that is a really bad idea by ASU.

They're way better off finding a kid that simply wants a big bag of money. Or even better, a kid that truly wants to play for their program and is happy about a big bag of money as a bonus.

Hard to paint the recruiting picture with broad brush strokes. Don’t think that’s changed. I don’t disagree that it’s a bad idea, but I’m sure there are kids that still want to follow a handler or coach or whatever the relationship is, NIL be damned.

And there's a saying:  BS walks, and money talks.

But in marketing it is all about target marketing and one is always closing.  In other words, each individual...each potential recruit has desires, motivations, requirements & etc. that are personal and real.  Family may be on top of the list. Demographics and culture could be up there.  Personal relations are always huge.  Organizational support of athletics including NIL, scholarship, day-to-day activities, facilities, teammates, coaches, fans, ability to have family/friends/scouts watching on TV and in the arenas, history, future opportunities, personal growth, vision, communication, technology, staying current in multimedia and as desires change, winning, maturity, all come in to play.  Some more important than others.

What to emphasize?  How to do that?

Glad all I have to do is decide which games to attend, yell at the refs and the TV, and POTFB.
