very interesting but also nothing earth shattering.  It's the landscape and staying ahead of it and knowing what you want is huge.  Also very noteworthy the mentions of not having your first year guys being your highest paid.  Huge, high ranking recruiting classes are still super important but winning with mostly freshman starters has proven difficult and seems to be becoming even more difficult in today's era.

Great insight.   Also funny that these were the same exact numbers being tossed around for the 4 and 5 star kids before NIL.  Ayton was rumored at 350-500k.  Williamson turned into a bidding war last minute and he got extra perks.  Nil has particularly helped the non stars and vastly added the number of teams participating in the payouts.

My goodness, this is brilliant.  It would be interesting to see how much this cost the collective.  If they had to pay for the trucks up front, they recoup a lot of it when the player leaves.  I would think Dodge gave them a sweetheart deal or even paid for it all since they're building brand loyalty with the players.

I love this idea, kudos to whoever came up with it

If they just pay the lease, it is probably about $600k/yr.  Insurance may bump that up but certainly a big bang for the buck deal

I was listening to Dusty and Danny on Sirius this morning and they mentioned some country singer who is a Notre Dame fan and threw out the idea of having a concert with all the gate being donated to the ND NIL coffers. Evidently Bon Jovi piped in and said he was in as well.

D and D then went on to mention a few other performers who are big college football fans and whether this could become a thing.

So, other than Mellencamp, who else could support IU in a meaningful way?
