Losing sucks and can create riffs amongst the players.  Seems like the bulk of it.

Some players on last year’s team trying to play above their ability level led to frustration…losing scoring opportunities and defensive struggles ….And led Garzon one major reason among others to look and transfer to what she sees as a higher ability team/program with more potential.
Coach probably did well to salvage a 20 win season.  However, that was a result of recent years recruiting struggles when IU Ladies were rolling along pretty well for a few years.  Thus the hire of mainly C. Thompson and a couple others on staff.

So far solid recruiting has improved and more recruiting activity is taking place in the 94 to 95 player rating range.  However, there are many teams that are beginning to roll along with those elite programs that have rolled for several years in the 96 to 97 rating.  (Iowa seems to be in the running for their share).

T. Moren talks about how IU Ladies look for specific characteristics in players and does note they will recruit an elite highly ranked 5 star player but they have to fit her system.  T. Moren kinda rambles about this to the point of a little bit of uncomfortable.  (Is this making things to complicated because most coaches feel the same way)?  Is this a way to kind of protect herself of IU inability?….to get a couple 96 to 97 rated players to go with the 94 to 95 rated players.

Addison Nyemchek:  Soon after narrowing list and then committing to IU A.N. moved up in player rankings.  In this case it is justified as she is one of the best.

However, I have seen this several times sometimes distorting how good a player will be college level.

You'd hope when things got tough you wouldn't have people bail, like Garzon, but that's just the nature of some. I don't think she had leadership qualities and preferred to be a follower, which is why she is at Maryland.

Well, I guess it will be very intersting to see how she handles her role as Captain there.

She'll handle it by shooting lights out, by always having an incredibly serious look on her face, and by saying very little.

That's great when the team has Mackenzie Holmes as it's leader, but not optimum otherwise.

For those who (correctly) have noticed that it's hard for underclassmen to be featured with IUWBB?

Neveah Caffey will counter that perception. Seems like she's gonna play early, and play a lot.

Coach Moren was very complimentary of Neveah in her interview earlier this week. Sounds like she will be a disruptive defender and has speed to burn.

Was wondering, on the scrimmage tonight is it men only or are the women also playing?
