Bracketology and Team Resumes

I guess we need Rutger to pick up a win to get rid of that Q3 loss or is that not a bad loss?

Depends on how each committee views a loss to a team that is a projected tournament team that happens to fall in the Q3 territory.   Personally I would say it’s a bad loss.  One of IU’s strength of its resume was it didn’t have any Q3 losses.  That’s not the case as of today.    Compared to other bubble teams losses it doesn’t look bad but for me since IU’s resume has some holes I personally would want a clean slate in the Q3 and 4 territory

Yeah that loss was a big one.  Had IU won that game IU fans wouldn’t be sweating today.    If they would of won that would of been a win against another bubble team, it would of taken away a Q3 loss and it would of assured IU having at least a .500 record against the top 3 Quads.   I said it at the time but that was a brutal loss for the program

If they get in and we get dinged for losing to them that’s some interesting mental gymnastics. But I find myself agreeing with you. How far is Rutgers from Q2 territory?

Then again, an IU win over Michigan coupled by a Rutgers loss could move us ahead of them in the pecking order.

They are at 78.  75 moves them to Q2.  If they play Iowa and win they almost assuredly would be quad 2.  If Iowa gets upset, a win over northwestern may or may not move them to 75.

It definitely could depending on how the committee viewed both teams.  If it would be close between the 2 resumes the head-to-head would come into play

Yep, lot of scenarios.  Does an IU win over Michigan jump IU over Michigan?  Perhaps.  At that point Michigan starts to run into danger territory of being just three games over .500.

I can’t remember IU being this close to the cut line before. Seems like we’re always squarely out or in and hoping for a slightly better seed.

IU was on the cut line in 2018(Romeo’s year).   If they would of won the Ohio st B1G tournament game they would of made it.   The last 6 years besides Archie’s first year IU was a couple wins away each year in making the tournament.  That’s why IU fans are so frustrated.   Just break through already

Definitely.  I said it many times people probably get sick of hearing it but that year set the program back because a program that has struggled finally had a position to change that perception and it gets taking away.    That was a big blow for fans as well.
