Uspshoosier Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago Looks like IU chose the hard way. Probably gained a Q2 win with Marquettes win but are going to add a Q2 loss after tomorrow. As usual I lay out the path that’s still in front of them but it’s a very difficult path. Program people on this board is invested in just lost 6 straight games to Northwestern and now 4 home games in a row. That’s as middle of the pack mediocre as you can get as a program. Until they can beat northwestern on a regular basis I would pump the brakes on this program competing anywhere near the top. Don’t care how much NIL you think they have. You are invested in a mid program Muskie plays the four and Home Jersey 2 Quote
TheWatShot Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago The worst part about tonight is all the mental gymnastics we're going to perform convincing ourselves we still have a path. Quote

We clearly do. It’s certainly possible. It is simply no longer probable. In other words, before tonight the computers had us in. Tomorrow they mostly won’t. Home Jersey and Shooter 2 Quote

They had an easier path right in front of them and got results today from other games that would have helped them if they would have won this game. Marquette blows out Georgetown on the road and they are going to shoot up the net tomorrow and be within the top 100 which would be a Q2 win. Only thing is northwestern winning will move them in the Q2 area. Win the next 3 (not likely) and you add 2 Q1 and 1 Q2 win and that will get them in. Every year I’m amazed this program continues to lose to Northwestern. Not sure if their seniors have lost to IU TadQueasy 1 Quote

Pagoda Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Our prediction market odds to make it went from ~80% to ~33%. After the last three games, I'm not holding my breath for a magical three game winning streak. Man, what a bummer. Quote

He’s a solid coach that is able to exploit matchup advantages wherever available and knows the rigors of B1G play. All that aside, if we lose to MSU, does anyone thing that the two games against Minnesota and OSU, paired with two B1G tournament wins could keep us in the conversation? Uspshoosier 1 Quote

Yes. That would put us at 21 wins and likely add at least one more Quad 1 win. In a scenario where there are few bid stealers I think that gets us in. I think minny, osu and one btt win has us in the conversation in the above scenario. But I’m not sure we end up on the right side of the bubble with just that. Uspshoosier and hoopsta007 2 Quote

Uspshoosier Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago For the first time all year ius NET dropped below the 30s. They are 40 and even worse for WAB dropped to 48. That’s the bigger drop. You want your WAB to be 42 or better. Now a win against Sparty probably helps get back to the 40s but as of now they are trending down. More teams play their way out of the tourney as those who play themselves into it. Bottom of the bubble is always weak and with their opportunities left and the BTT chances they will still have a shot to get in however the frustrating thing for fans is all they have to do is take care of the teams they are suppose to and they would of been projected in with wiggle room. Not now. Earn it or try again next year hoopsta007 1 Quote
