Big upcoming AAU weekend and the 4 days following will begin to shed some light on who Archie and staff are focusing on in the '20 class.   As a refresher, this weekend event is an Evaluation Period which means coaches can "look but can't touch", i.e., they cannot have any contact with a recruit.  The 4-days after (April 29 thru May 2) are a Recruiting Period where in-person off-campus contact is permitted.

The lone evaluation period in April will tip off Friday night as college coaches begin to dive deeper into the 2020 classes and beyond.  In previous years, there have been two three-day evaluation periods in April, but that’s not the case in 2019.  Due to significant changes to the NCAA recruiting calendar, this weekend is the only opportunity this month for coaches to evaluate prospects at certified events.

The three major shoe circuit events are spread out this weekend. Adidas will be in Dallas, Nike will be in Atlanta and Under Armour will be in Kansas City.  Following the weekend, there will be a four-day recruiting period in which coaches will be able to make in-person, off-campus recruiting contacts and evaluations.

Also keep in mind this time of year in interviews you will here recruits say they are interested and want to set up visits to schools. Many kids last year said they wanted to get Bloomington for a visit. Guards that actually made it for official visits were Carton, Franklin in the early period and Harris and Quinones for the late period. Of all the guards people say IU missed out on only 4 were serious enough to actually make it on campus for an official

Here are the lines for the Nike kids that played Friday night.  All teams are playing 4 games this weekend but not all of them were scheduled for a Friday night game.   And for whatever reason, a number of teams did not report TO's, Stls; Blks.  Davion Bradford and MoKan played but Bradford does not appear in the box score.

Currently appears to be only 1 player on the 17U Under Armour circuit with more than a passing IU interest.   Program note:  Over this weekend, you'll see us mentioned as having watched a particular kid.  Unless evidence of genuine interest on our part surfaces, I won't be posting stats for every kid mentioned.  The focus is on kids with IU offers and those that we've clearly expressed strong interest in and have been in contact with on more than a single occasion.

Blake Sisley is playing for G3 Grind in the 16U Under Armour circuit. His team had an opening night 57-55 win.  Blake had 18 pts and 9 reb.

Dopirak later reported Archie was watching the Indiana Elite 16U which includes Luke Brown, Curt Hopf and Trey Kaufman so some of you can rest easy that Archie has indeed watched Luke Brown play.  lol
