Post Game Discussion: Indiana - 68 vs Seton Hall - 84

Recommended Posts

Seton Hall is going to be really good. Lot of experience on this team, they returned basically everyone from their NCAA team last year. I expected this game to go basically exactly like this. I liked the fight I saw in the first half. We have a new coach. We very well could see a team actually improve as the season goes on. I know it's been a long time since we've had that.

If we lay an egg in the Notre Dame game I will agree with you. We will get beat by Duke and Louisville. Keeping this intensity will be huge for us.

We need to worry about all the other nonconformist opponents before ND, UL, or Duke. If we compete in those games I'll be happy.

If they don't let Davis bang a little he's gonna be fouling out of a lot of games.

He also needs a lot of work on post moves once he gets the ball. He's too quick to get it back outside when we have the ball in the right position to be successful.

All I'm saying is I have enough evidence to know this is no where close to a march madness team.

That's all. We can improve and get better, and we will. I'll enjoy the ride, but we aren't good enough to do anything.

No one is jumping off a cliff. It's the reality of things.

I think we need to wait longer than 3 games to declare this. This was an expected loss. We started 2 freshmen, one of which was guarding possibly the best post player in the country. We’re going to improve and be able to compete with teams like this for full games. Will we win them? Idk, but I have confidence we’ll be there in the end.

I thought we'd be a bubble type team or slightly better. Or at least not a terrible team. We are bad.

I was more questioning than most of our fanbase, but yeah, I thought we'd be better.

We are still only 3 games into the season. Still time to turn things around. However, I don't really see things changing a ton if we don't get more from Newkirk, Johnson and Davis. I had us as a potential bubble team too. Not ready to give up quite yet.

Indiana basketball is so far from where it needs to be. It's really sad.

I feel sad for Archie really. I think he is a good coach. But man.......

He knew what he was going to have. He will right the ship. Coach Ks first 3byrs at Duke weren't very good.

4 points and 1 rebound for our starting center.

And our backup center can't get off the bench for the second time in three games.

Recruiting has consequences. (Probably won't be the last time I say that this season)

I think we all thought that was a question mark coming into the season. Surely you couldn't have thought this woul be a smooth ride with what we had coming back?

I have watched too much college basketball specially with good coaches to think the tourney is out of the question 3 games into the year. I knew there would be struggles and probably not make the tourney, but CAM will get these guys better by conference play and if not it will still be fun to see what kind of roles these guys on this team will look like next year. RP is gonna be huge for us. I think he starts day one. Just don't see how he doesn't.

That is more than fair. I think those are truly growth games this year.

Not sure why? Hartman is gonna be huge, this team is still learning their roles and the system. I'm excited to see the difference now and at the end of the year. That is what I'm looking forward too.

Yep, that'll be the ride. That's what we have to look forward to.

Just not good enough to do anything worthwhile except grow.
