Corruption in College Basketball

The NCAA actually taking actions against a basketball program? The FBI could have the case sign, sealed, and deliver it and the NCAA will mess it up.

The main thing I point to in regards to why I don't think IU will be involved is the fact that most, if not all of their alums play different shoes, aside from Adidas, and in the case of teams that were hit by NCAA violations in last probe, we saw Adidas buying out players for when they got to the NBA. List of former IU players current shoe deals.

Oladipo- Jordan

Yogi- Nike

OG- Nike

Vonleh- Jordan

Williams- Nike

Zeller- Jordan

I also thought it was stated that the FBI was done with the Adidas circuits and had moved onto investigating the EYBL circuit, I think most teams that were caught, were announced in the initial probe with Adidas. At the same time, I am worried because at one point, Indiana was up there at the top, however there was only two really highly touted players on that roster, and neither of those guys were  players Adidas would have paid big money for. Kenny Johnson was involved so that's scary. Honestly hope these teams are announced sooner, rather than later.

Yep, I worry about KJ getting Vonleh under Crean’s watch.

Sources tell ESPN as many as 3 dozen Division I basketball programs could face NCAA penalties once evidence of FBI probe is public. "It's not the mid-major programs who were trying to buy players to get to the top. It's the teams that are already there."

Having a hard time seeing many BIG schools involved. Maybe Michigan?

As for other schools - Baylor, AZ, AZ St, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Miami, Ga Tech, Bama, Auburn, A&M, KU (although blueboods are protected)...none of these would surprise me and some have already been named in previous report.

I could see Maryland on that list

I could see MSU as well. Went from Izzo complaining on getting beat for players he knew were being paid to getting all of this top talent. Plus he has played in the gray before. Zbo in 2000.

Izzo is a fraud. I don’t see anything but shadiness with him. Many were victimized and he covered it up.  I’ve also grown tired of all his whining on the sidelines when officials made the right call. I can’t count the number of makeup calls he’s received due to his crybaby ways. I hope MSU makes the list because he deserves it.

Me too. The main takeaway from all of this is pretty much what was already known- if you are consistently signing top-level guys you are dirty. It's a broad generalization, sure, but seems pretty clear there is/was a "going rate" for these guys. Certainly other factors come into play, but kinda come down to: 1) Elite players get paid 2) Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, UNC, Mich St et al are consistently getting elite players. 3) Prima fascia = those schools are dirty.

Beilein has always been the 1 guy I am completely confident is perfectly clean. If that turns out to be wrong, I'll just give up on cleaning things up. Let's just turn recruiting into free agency, complete with a salary cap.

Might be the only way to fix the cheating. Or whatever you call it.
