He belongs in the NBA. On the ESPN 30 for 30 about him, he essentially said he doesn't view his job as winning NCAA titles; it's getting guys to the NBA. That's not the kind of guy I'd want coaching my team.

Lesser programs will land five stars here and there. The key as a blue blood is to be consistent and get players like Langford and garland year in and year out coupled with 3 and 4 star talent. If not this year then the 2019 class will be great

I'd like to see comparative numbers but it seems WAY ahead of previous years. Haven't even had July evals and we are approaching 40% Top 100 committed.

I don't think we can blame Crean here. We are clearly targeting top notch players first. Maybe we won't get those guys and the class will disappoint, but for Langford and Garland it will require patience.

Still really early to judge but it's starting to get a bit antsy as competitive schools get the better targets.

^^This is where I'm at.^^

Though I know with my logical mind that it's really early to judge, it'd be nice to pick up Race, Jerome, RobP, Damezi, or best of all (for me) Bazely to plant our '18 recruiting class and allow us to wait on the big names with some peace of mind.

Bazley or Dort or Carey would really settle me down.

 

Thompson or Anderson or Hunter would be a solid start, but I'd still be looking ahead.

 

Phinisee or other wouldn't really change much for me.

im starting to think high school players dont look at indiana like they did in the past. kids have to be wowed now. they dont look at the tradition and see it as an honor to play here anymore. i know a lot of you wont agree but that is how i am feeling about it. especially as slow as this recruiting is going. i have not even seen where have a player even leaning towards indiana

Yes and no. Players haven't looked at Indiana the way you are or have in 25 years. We have to win. Consistently. I think we will be fine and be very happy with recruiting starting next season. Instant gratification with recruiting very rarely happens. It's been a couple of months. We were never going to be leading for any 2018 at this point. Archie didn't recruit the type of 2018 talent he is now. Relationships take time. Hopefully we get two or three quality players this year. The studs will come.

That team camp that Archie and crew just had should be the surest sign of our staff's complete confidence in their own abilities, connections, and likability in state. Even better news? The coaches at the team camp were all really happy to be there. We've got a staff which only gets better the better you know them.

When our staff ends the camp with a pizza and beer party for all of the coaches who came (and they did), you can be reasonably assured that really good things are going to follow.

Right away? Maybe. Eventually? Absolutely.
