Yes but he has to play well in a couple of weekends in a row. Not a good one than a couple bad ones plus stay healthy

Looks like Ohio State reeled in another one. That's two for Holtmann pretty quickly. The recruiting obviously carried over from Butler.

Really getting anxious on who will be the first IU commit for Archie and if we can get one of the big fish for 2018 to really start the domino effect of guys wanting to come aboard.

If you notice Holtman is getting 3 star guys he was recruiting at Butler and are enticing them even more at Ohio St.

Look at the offer list for the two recruits that Holtmann has pulled in this week: they consist largely of mid to lower level power five conference teams. Neither Watson nor Jallow (unless you believe the IU and UVA offers were still available, and I don't) had nearly as good an offer list as, say, Clifton Moore. I know that OSU currently has plenty of room for these two, but if he fills his roster with too many like this the ceiling for OSU will be limited going forward.

The quality at OSU seems to be lacking a little more so I think there is a bigger sense of urgency for Holtman to fill some of those spots rather than waiting on bigger time recruits to decide. It's always interesting seeing the adjustment coaches make from mid-major to big time conference and the effect on recruiting.

You are right. Unless Holtman has aspirations of being on the same playing field as Nebraska, he will need to bring in some bigger recruits.

The leap from Butler to Ohio State is much smaller than the leap from Dayton to IU. Recruiting wise there might not even really be a leap. Holtman is bringing in guys that he had already been recruiting. Archie's mostly trying to bring in guys from a tier that he didn't spend much time recruiting from at Dayton. I won't be worried about Holtmann until we start losing guys head to head against him.

We have an opportunity to see Holtmann vs Archie soon with Jerome Hunter. Holtmann has the geographic advantage on that one though.

The funny thing is the OSU insider picked Michigan a while back. Jerry Meyer picked OSU in June. Then a bunch of people piggybacking. I am guessing Jerry's was a guess based on momentum. The OSU guy was when Matta was still there. Guesses that will probably change before it's all said and done.

A couple services have Torrance Watson as high as #56 including ESPN I believe. Composite ranking is currently #100. Solid recruit, not one to scoff at.
