I just don't see how some of you thought Crean was gonna be back. There was no justifiable way to bring him back

We didn't have to bring him back two years ago, either. But we did.

We didn't have to make Bill Lynch head football coach because he carried out Hep's dream. But we did.

We didn't have to let the players decide Mike Davis as our basketball coach. But we did.

When you've seen poor decision after poor decision from your athletic department for a decade and a half with different people, you just kind of expect it.

And after so much time, the administration is gonna make the right decision. This is that time. It started with Crean getting fired. And it's gonna end with Donovan getting hired

You say you can't see how people thought Crean wouldn't get fired, but I'll go ahead and say the same about people who think Donovan is going to be IU's next coach.. Don't see it happening. There really has been nothing I've seen or read that makes me think he's leaving is sweet coaching gig to return to IU. He's coaching one of the best players on the planet and will be in the playoffs.. He's also not making chump change at $6MM/year.. You think he's going to give that up and come to IU? Not sure what makes everyone so confident. Because of what people are saying on the message boards? We've seen how most of those rumors work out..

I don't think he's necessarily a sure or even likely thing, but how cushy really is the OKC job? They're currently very middle of the pack in the Western Conference, and are going to be behind the Spurs, Thunder, and Rockets for the foreseeable future. Having a great star and the middling roster they have also means they're not gonna be in line for any top draft choices. Couple that with the fact that he only finally left for the NBA when he thought he was going to have KD and Russ, when no one really thought at the time Durant was going to leave the Thunder when he hit free agency.

Adding all that up really doesn't make OKC seem like some dream job, but I still know it would take A LOT for him to come to Bloomington and back to the college game.

For one, there's way too smoke to be no fire with the Donovan rumors. Two, coaching the Oklahoma City Thunder is not a much sweeter gig than IU if at all. And three, Russell Westbrook is gone. He's gonna leave the Thunder and everyone and their mother knows it

All of the smoke is coming from posters who have heard from their brother-in-law's ex cousin that the law firm that represents Donovan's aunt and uncle heard that possibly Donovan was maybe in Bloomington...

Donovan is obviously a guy who has striven to be an NBA coach. Now that he's there, coaching Westbrook and in the playoff hunt, it really wouldn't make sense for him to just quit in the middle of his contract.

People keep saying Westbrook is gone.. But isn't he locked up until 2018-19? He just signed an extension, right?

I can't imagine having to go through something like that. My grandma just recently had heart surgery and I was scared as sh!t. She's doing pretty well now but man I was on edge all the time. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my grandma and grandpa. Those two mean everything to me
