All of the smoke is coming from posters who have heard from their brother-in-law's ex cousin that the law firm that represents Donovan's aunt ad uncle heard that possibly Donovan was maybe in Bloomington...

Donovan is obviously a guy who has striven to be an NBA coach. Now that he's there, coaching Westbrook and in the playoff hunt, it really wouldn't make sense for him to just quit in the middle of his contract.

People keep saying Westbrook is gone.. But isn't he locked up until 2018-19? He just signed an extension, right?

He is stuck in purgatory with that team. OKC isn't good enough to compete for a championship but not bad enough to get a quality draft pick. Not to mention he lost Durant. Since that happened, Donovan could see Westbrook leaving too

So Indiana is the job he's been dreaming of that will lure him away from Westbrook and the Thunder?

If he doesn't like Westbrook then yes.  Plus even if he likes Westbrook hes only got 1 more season with him.  If he wants out of Dodge then IU is the best choice.

Westbrook can't just leave tomorrow.. He's there for at least another season.

So what, another year of coaching a guy is worth passing up a great opportunity.  And I really doubt Donovan likes to coach Westbrook.  How often did he have Westbrook style players at Florida?

Yep team Westbrook is going to win a championship. News flash Steve Kerr does more coaching than Donovan does this season. If you aren't coaching the Warriors or the Spurs give it a rest in the western conference. I'm a realist you my good sir are a Westbrook homer.

Hates coaching the guy who is on pace to average a triple-double, a feat that hasn't been done since Oscar Robertson?? Yeah I'm sure it's a miserable job.

Westbrook homer? Ummm no.. But I can see with my own two eyes what the guy has accomplished this season which is something that hasn't been done in what, 50 years?

If he hates the nba egos he will leave and does an nba coach really do that much coaching

We could have kept Crean for another season. Sometimes the writing is on the wall.

The fans don't particularly like him. WBrook is widely rumored to be leaving ASAP. OKC isn't the type of place to lure players.

BUT he does make 6 mil a year.

We can pay him 6-7 and give him much more longevity.

I'm still hoping for Brad Stevens though. He only makes 3.7 mil. Lol

I agree with that but that alone isn't going to keep Donovan. There has to be a supporting cast and they don't have it this year and will probably not be able to add another star player before Westbrook hits the open market. So why wouldn't Donovan get the best opportunity that comes his way when he knows the Thunder aren't going to be relevant for a few years.

You don't think coaching IU is a better job than coaching the 6th best team in the Western Conference? Forget who's on the team for a minute, actually don't, they're still in 6th place.

How can you just assume that OKC won't be relevant? There's free agency, the trade deadline, the draft, etc..

Westbrook is gone after next year anyway, so that's hardly reason to stay with OKC.

If he wants to stay through a rebuild and feels good about that (which is certainly possible), he might want to stay at OKC. But given that he took over a title-contending team with Durant, Westbrook, ( (and a nice other piece with Serge Ibaka), and that likely all those guys will be gone soon, I can understand why he might want to leave...

Someone mentioned it earlier.. Any time there is an Alford rumor, it gets shot down and laughed at really quickly. However, the Donovan rumors are gospel until every angle has been analyzed and people realize those are just BS too.

Consider the sources shooting down the Alford rumors...

You don't seeing that happening regarding the Donovan rumors.  Just sayin'
