Maybe... "While I'm here"

Right before that he says, "my commitment is totally here"... I want Donovan to be the next coach at IU. Just don't think it's gonna happen. It doesn't make sense for him.

I have a couple people I trust about IU affairs, but have not talked to them since this whole situation has started. I work in Louisville and know a few people close to that program and when they heard that Crean had been fired they looked at me without prompt and said Donovan will be your next coach.

Do do I fully trust them on this no, but with all the other stuff that's been said by other people I tend to believe that he will be at IU next year.

What else do you expect a coach to say in public though?  Saban flat out said he will not be the coach at Alabama right before becoming the coach at Alabama.  I always expect coaches to say thing like that in public.

Maybe he prefers the college game.  Maybe he doesn't particularly like Westbrook and/or is tired of Westbrook being a one man show.  Maybe after 30 years IU still has pull.  If he has interest there could be a million different reasons.

There's alot of "maybe's" in that comment... What makes you think he prefers college or doesn't like Westbrook?

I see why he stays at Wichita St. Imagine if he was at a power 5 school and lost maybe 10 games a year?

The crazy husband/wife stuff is wayyyy easier to get by with at a school like that between a smaller fan base and a coaching having more control over a program.

See: Indiana State

And IU basketball alums. Who should have no input on this decision whatsoever.

Seriously? You think past players should have no input?
I'd argue they are more qualified than most other groups of people, including boosters, donors, and message board posters!
