Yep. I like recruiting ratings more than most but I have always liked Green. I liked OG too. But Green in particular is intriguing to me. Very athletic. Good pedigree. Built like a house. Known as a lock down type defender. Averaged 25 or so in high school. Scored off drive and jumpers. I'll be shocked if he isn't a great player by year 2 or 3 and may surprise some this year.

I feel like we are in a good spot with Waters and it will just come down to who he really wants to play for in the end. The UK machine is certainly appealing and Cali is pitching hard but a guy doing homework on his OV does not in any way sounds like a UK guy.

Wondering why an elite big like Bamba or Richards wouldn't take a serious look at IU (maybe they are, who knows) considering the recent successes of Zeller, Vonleh, and Bryant.

That said we could end up with a serviceable guy like Moore, Gak, etc to pair with Davis. Moore is now a 4 star on 247.

Eh.. Waters could be the next great pure PG in this system IMO. He's got all the tools you look for. Other recruits would be drawn to and want to play with that type of guard. I believe IU NEEDS that type of guy.

I still like us more than UK (knock on wood) in this because we've been recruiting him longer.  It reminds me of the late pushes other schools were making with DeRon Davis last year, but ultimately all the time put in with him won out in the end.  Sometimes that means something, sometimes it doesn't though.

I think with Waters it all boils down to where he can be the lead guard.  puke seems to favor Trae Young and have Waters as a backup plan.  I have zero idea of how things are going for Newkirk but Waters could start as a freshman and would definitely run things as a sophomore.  At puke they would have Young start ahead of him and then recruit over him as a sophomore.  He's a smart kid.

I just watched a video of the Jayhawks new $12 million basketball dorm. Pretty impressive, includes a basketball gym, barbershop and theater room. Almost on the level of pUKe's Wildcat Lodge. I can see where recruits would wowed by this. Weird though, didn't notice any areas for studying.
