I bet Crean tries to hire Porter's dad to save his own skin. While also trying to get Waters and Tucker.  OG, Hartman, Blackmon, Johnson, Priller and McSwain are gone. This just seems like something Crean would do to save himself.

I'm pretty sure Irsay talked about it a couple of times during the press conference for Ballard.

Crean isnt a reruiting angel. He plays the shoe game like the rest of them. He isnt going to pay players, but he will go into the grey.

Take that for what it is worth. My source I personally believe to be fairly reliable.

His recruiting results and comments from Rick Bozich would definitely suggest otherwise

I dont see how this can possibly go on another year. There is nothing to get anyone excited about next year at all. It would simply be beyond ugly.

I've seen the question posed about whether we need that splash hire or not. I'll throw a name out there who I really like, is a heck of a coach, and would meet the criteria of a fundamentally solid coach. Scotty Davenport of Bellarmine University in Louisville. He's won the D-2 championship and has them back in the elite eight this year. Granted, he's a little older, so I have no idea how long he'd coach, but the guy can flat out coach.
