It just reminded me of when Calipari said the dribble drive is the best offense when shots are falling. The same thing applies to literally every offense.
Haha no I see what you are saying. I just think IU's offense when making shots is better than other offenses when they make shots. We'll out run and gun you

Agree. Then why isn't our focus every game to play to that strength? I'm watching the replay of ohio State and we aren't playing that way. But Ohio State could nt have played much worse and we hit outside shots.

I honest think Tommy saw the charts I put together in the How Indiana wins post. His comments seem to me like he know now that we need to push the ball and shoot quick to win.

It was Joani who read it. Tom was too busy clapping on the court to do that. ;)

Which interview was it? There may be hope for this coach afterall. He changed his sub patterns after getting boo'd by 17,000 faithful. Now changing his game plans based on great statiscal analysis from one of our own from Btown Banners. If he would only consult with us on some of these project centers, we all would have told him to get Mcgary or Hammons. Another suggestion, dump the 3 x 5 cards with plays and sub patterns and just watch the game. Also, only get out on the court to trip Ted Valentine not trap one of your own players. Sorry sunshiners, I couldn't resist. I still hope we win out and get to dance.

Nothing sunshiner about that post. Team has clearly played differently the last two games.

Not afraid to admit I'm not totally sold on Coach Crean, even last year with the season we were having I did not think Coach Crean's in-game coaching, and adjustment skills were carrying the team, but rather a senior laden team, and Victor Oladipo's self-motivation.

I expected some struggles this season with what we lost from last year, and so many newcomers, but for most of this season it appeared we weren't improving, in fact for a stretch we seemed to be regressing which was very frustrating. This past week though appears to be a step in the right direction.

I don't expect Coach Crean to get fired anytime soon, but if we continue with struggling seasons, and his offensive system doesn't begin to show through as being more than just dribbling around the perimeter, and we miss consecutive NCAAT's, then yeah his seat better begin to get hot.

It was pretty unbelievable what Vic did for that team. He single handedly won games last year. One that quickly comes to mind was at Iowa on New Years. One of the most impressive individual college seasons I've ever seen.

The late season turnaround is comforting for sure, but it doesnt exactly erase the glaring issues that came to the top this year. I stand by my gut and my gut says Crean is a great recruiter and a decent coach, but not one who is capable of winning the big one. Only a Final Four (at least) will change my mind about that. He's a nice guy and a great voice for not only the program, but for the entire university, but if we want to win big we need more than nice guys and promoters. I sincerely hope he proves everyone wrong, but man...he sure proved a lot of people right this year...in all the wrong ways.

Another thing is that the players never get any blame. I see yogi yelling and jumping at some of them to do what their suppose to be doing countless times a game. I mean they're freshmen, but shouldn't they know what they are supposed to be doing? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Players do hold some blame, but that does not make Crean free from blame.  Especially when some of the same problems this year have been present for multiple years.  At the end of the day he is the head coach and he is ultimately responsible for the product on the floor.

It's not happening this offseason. However his seat should be warm going I to next season

Also, nice to see some familiar faces. I had no clue that ppl bailed on 247 after the switch. Just found this place. I'm on the keep Crean bandwagon until Stevens says he wants to come home or it's clear he will be successful in the NBA. At that point you fire Crean and get the best coach you can.
