It would be great to get him, but I don't see it ever happening. He's in a nice position with Boston. In 2-3 years they'll probably be the favorites in the East. Coming to IU would be a pretty big downgrade from his current job. If he really does miss the college game Duke would take him, imo. I would love for him to come here because he's a once in a generation type coach, but I don't think we can wait in limbo hoping he picks us. His 2nd year he took ISU to the tourney for the first time since 2005. Not much of a sample size. It would be more about moving his family back to the Midwest in the state he spent most of his life. The decision would pretty much be a lifestyle decision more than a basketball one, it would just be up to him where he sees the best fit. He probably does see himself coaching IU one day though, whether it's at age 40 or 55. Maybe, we can hope, he won't want to pass up the opportunity because he isn't sure when he'll get another one. But I agree, he'd be borderline crazy to leave that situation in Boston. He's coaching one of the best franchises in all of sports, and their arrow is pointed sky high right now. I highly doubt if Glass doesn't know whether Stevens is worth going after. If we don't go after him in public view it doesn't mean he wasn't our first call.
