HoosierAloha Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I also find it hard to believe it is Gavitt tip off game because of the 2K Sports classic which is around the same time. We'll have to play in the Gavitt Tipoff again soon. It's an 8 year deal with each B1G getting at least 4 games and 8 B1G teams will get 5 games. We might play a Gavitt Tipoff road game in the Northeast and then just play at MSG for the 2k Classic later in the week. FortWayneHoosier 1 Quote

ccgeneral Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 The Big Ten is planning to play two conference games in early December of 2017, sources told FanRag Sports. The two games would be part of a “Big Ten Weekend”, which would feature the conference’s football championship game on Saturday, Dec. 2nd. Each basketball program would play one home game and one away game under the expected plan, with the games taking place between Friday Dec. 1st and Monday Dec. 4th, a separate source said. The same source said that the Big Ten will not have games between Christmas and New Year’s in 2017, with conference play resuming in early 2018. http://www.todaysu.com/big-ten/rothstein-big-ten-planning-play-two-conference-games-december-2017/ HoosierAloha, LIHoosier and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote

It'll also help selling and keeping ticket holders having a familiar home game on campus early in the year amongst the usual December games like Sacajawea St. yogisballin, Bobman1, ALASKA HOOSIER and 3 others 6 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Nothing glamorous about this, imo, other than the recruiting aspect of it all. HoosierAloha Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 most certainly it would! That's assuming we get solid ACC and Big East opponents. UL and Norte Dame will be good for the RPI. I'm just concerned we'll get 7 games against the RPI 300+. Alford Bailey 1 Quote

Not sure if this is a good or bad omen. Could also mean we're playing a Gavitt game(Big East) on the road and don't want to spend a week straight away to start the season. Quote

This has nothing to do with Crean if that's what your referencing to. Glass said before our dumpster fire season he was getting a "major" home game for 17-18. The odds are the 2K sports classic interfered with that game happening. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

AZ Hoosier Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Zach Osterman just tweeted that IU pulled out - that is was Indiana's decision. Maybe Billy D has something else in mind. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Very interesting decision in my opinion. This is an east coast game to help east coast recruiting imo. We've tried to play in east at least 1 time per season since Crean started honing in to the East Coast. Things are starting to happen.
