Well let's just start Gelon next game then!! I love the fact anytime JBJ has a bad game his hate returns and then he drops 33 and wins us a game single handedly and he is so awesome. Smh can't wait to see what Gelon can do out there. I hope it does happen that way Crean is out the door a lot faster.

Is it "hate" to post stats to the board? He simply posted a stat that showed JBJ had a bad game and never stated anything hating on JBJ or even that he trusted that particular stat.

Your perceived "hate" of JBJ from this board is interesting.

He never gets attacked on here. I must have mistaken all the shots taken on him about being selfish or how bad his defense is and that is fine but a lot of it goes overboard. You can critique a kid but don't bash any of our kids when they have done more for this program than any of us combined. Sorry if you find that interesting.

Woah, I never stated he didn't get attacked or critiqued on here. I simply stated any stats or trends brought up on JBJ you perceive it as him being bashed.

JBJ is a good scorer but far from a complete player. The more radical fans (ones on this board) are into iubb and critique everything. It's bizarre that every critique is a "bash."

He had a bad game no?

He's the best player on the team so after he takes 3 shots and scores 4 points in a game we lose by 30 he's going to get criticized. I think a reason for some of the "hate" he gets is that we had such high expectations for him coming in and he just hasn't lived up to them. What he does for us, while great at times, gets overlooked because we were expecting more.

Screens?  Screens you say?  What are these screens?  I have them in my windows and doors.  Those kinds of screens?

I didn't see one single screen set for Blackmon.  If you can't run a play to get the kid open.....

I would hate to think what would happen if we ran a motion offense to get our shooters open.

Screens?  Screens?  I'm confused.  I have screens in my windows and doors.  Is that what you mean??

In all seriousness, I've been saying this for a while.  Man, I loved me some Tom Pritchard screens.  He'd knock a man silly sometimes.  Does JBJ, or, really anyone for that matter, not a lick of good to run, cut, slash, etc. if their man can just stay with them the whole way.  Faster and quicker won't matter.  I've also seen the bigs go to set a screen, and the ball handler, or the cutter goes away from it.  Just mind boggling at times.

Now this statement is one I can agree with. Very well said and yes I do see your point. I may be biased cause I live in Wabash, Indiana. After I left IU after a year, I finished up in Fort Wayne. My first real job in Marion. The theme is JBJ was always right around the corner for me to watch so I did because he committed to us early. Enough of my life story lol, but I learned to not just like him as a player but a person. I may get take some basic things to an extent not needed, but after last year and not just JBJ but other kids at IU have took so much bashing it is crazy. I understand saying he didn't play well and I understand the expectations were a lot higher, but I knew coming here was gonna be a challenge for him. He comes from a basketball family. He always had the skills so Crean developing him wasn't ever an issue, but him needed someone to push him and Crean just hasn't done it. I would say he has a pretty good career regardless, but yeah he probably could be a little bit better. Our fanbase labeled him as something he was never meant to be. A player who would win our program a title. His rating came from shooting we all know that. He is a damn good shooter and can create his own shot, but to make him take the next step he needs a hard nosed coach and sadly he won't get that here it will be in the NBA or D League, which is why I think he will be fine once he leaves. I was the same way maybe worse with Yogi and VJ3. Verdell just always seemed to leave his all out on the floor even though we all knew he was a 3 star we expected him to be a 5 star once we saw he was probably our best player the first few years. Not everyone on here does it but some do bash our kids. Crean is an adult and gets paid very well to be our coach so I get that bashing, but these kids are representing the program we all follow very closely. Sorry if I have offended anyone that was not my intentions.

I've seen a lot of chatter on twitter about this game, did we have the same reactions when this game was over. Just curious I was 2 when this game was played

As bad as that loss was, that IU team finished 12-6 in the B1G, 21-9 overall, and made it to the Sweet Sixteen.

Methinks that's not where this year's edition is headed, but who knows, I guess.

Completely different time too.  Bob Knight was Bob Knight for a reason, as a coach he had few peers, we could feel pretty confident that he would get the most out of the team. With Crean it's more of wondering how far the collection of talent can take him and wondering if he'll find a way to screw up.

Sweet 16? How many lottery pick did RMK have on that team?

Answer: ZERO. Alan Henderson was the 16th pick in the '95 draft. Damon Bailey was the 44th pick in the '94 draft. Brian Evans was the 27th pick in the '96 draft and no one else was drafted...  it takes Crean TWO of the top 4 picks to get that far...

Well, since you brought it up the last 2 games have been the perfect example of my criticisms of JBJ.  Score 30 one game complete disappearing act the next.
