Does anybody know...

Does McRoberts rip everything he shoots in practice?

When I was at IU, we had a guy named Jeff Stocksdale who never missed in practice and never could hit in a game

Man I don't know but if that kid could score he'd get my nod for starter minutes. He seems to be gaining the confidence to hoist it now....that's something at least.

The 76ers drafted Embiid #3 with all of his foot problems. I would argue that for a 7 footer that's a more significant injury than a torn ACL. Someone would take a chance on him in the 1st round.

Is an ACL injury something that makes one more susceptible to future knee injuries, like how a bad ankle injury makes future ankle injuries more likely?

Yeah i suppose so. If thats the case he probably leaves then. Why risk another injury.

It's not supposed to. There are three different type of common ACL surgeries, but I don't think any make your more susceptible to another ACL tear, just general knee pain. This is speaking from experience and not research. If OG tore his ACL, I would imagine he would be back. The general recovery timeline is 4 months to straight-line running. 6 months to jumping and cutting. 9-12 months for full recovery. Teams would want to see if he lost any athleticism and he wouldn't be able to go through combine drills, and completing the drills would surely help his stock.

Not sure. If you look at a guy like D Rose it certainly seems like it does, but then other guys come back and are as good as new. I think a lot of it is mental. Some guys when they come back still don't trust their repaired knee so they baby it and overcompensate with their healthy one, which could lead to further injury.

Lots of dumb turnovers almost cost us this one. Luckily, PSU made plenty of dumb turnovers too. Winning on the road without JM and without OG in the second half is something I'll take any day though.

This team has the unfortunate knack of making the most crucial turnovers at the most inopportune times I've ever seen. DG and TB late in the game was inexcusable.

Well in that case, I don't see why his stock would fall far enough for him to consider another year. From what you guys are saying, it sounds like NBA teams wouldn't necessarily avoid him because he had an ACL.

I'm definitely not an expert, but I've always been told a repaired ACL injury is similar to a broken bone in that it "should" be stronger after rehab. There are obviously exceptions.

Somebody mentioned this above but it all comes down to timing. Presuming it's ACL plus/minus other related injuries (meniscus, mcl) he won't be ready to go by draft time. Would an NBA team take him sight unseen after repair? Quite the leap of faith it seems.

Again, presuming that they don't, then he stays another year. Does this affect Tucker? Maybe. He has mentioned OG specifically already with regards to him leaving and opening a role for Tucker. Imo, if Crean stays, Tucker gets his minutes anyway with CTC's substitution pattern.

Whole lot of presumptions there.....

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Just want OG to get healthy and recovered.

Have you or anyone heard what his plan was for next year? What I mean is, has he said publicly that he planned to leave after seasons end? Obviously I knew his projections for the draft but, I wasn't sure it was a lock that he wasn't considering his junior season.

Like hsrtxp said the big problem would be if he's not healthy by the draft and teams don't have the opportunity to see him workout after the injury. With modern medicine though an ACL isn't usually the career-altering injury it was 25-30 years ago.

I honestly doubt anyone, OG included, knew a concrete plan.

You guys know what I hate when projecting next year's team.

Newkirk is on it. Seems like a great kid but his play isn't good. He is a terrible dribbler for a PG. And not a great shooter. And turnover prone.

For a starting PG, his stats were terrible last night. I actually posted is it wrong to be happy that he picked up his 4th foul last night. When he came out the game sort of settled out and we started playing better, Green again showed great potential to lead this team. You can't tell me as the staff is watching tapes today or whenever they will, that this is not obvious.

They hadn't noticed it in the 18 games prior to last night so I'm not confident that they will now. Or maybe they have noticed it and just don't want to make a change for whatever reason. Either way I would bet on Newkirk getting starter minutes the rest of the season.

Wishful thinking or act of desperation on my part I guess. Kills me to see this team this year, I don't think I have ever been so frustrated with so many different games in one season. The OG injury just tore me up, but on the other side I'm hoping that this gives someone the chance to step up with more minutes and prove they need to start over JN.

The problem I have with Josh is that he was able to work with the team last year and that extra time has not translated to success on the court.  I feel like it was a significant advantage to be with and work with the previous team with an exceptional point guard as a model for Crean's system.  I think he is better suited to come off the bench in reserve.  I get frustrated with this team as I see them playing "soft" .  Devonte plays hard and that aggressive play effects those that play with him.  He controls the game tempo and I want to see more court time for him.

That's nothing new though. Lyonel is nuts.

He's one of the boys, if you follow the team on instagram, some of them do those live instagram feeds and James was doing one on the plane they were on for like 15 minutes and lyonel was with them clowning around and having fun sitting in the same section. It was really cool to see how they were after a big win, at that point jbj's biggest concern was if anyone had a certain bag of chips he wanted lol.
