Popular Post ThompsonHoosier Posted July 25, 2017 Author Popular Post Posted July 25, 2017 Well we don't need Lagow to be the next Sudfeld; we just need more consistency and less turnovers. The defense should be able to keep us in games, we just can't afford to throw 4 interceptions in one game.Sent from my Pixel using BtownBanners mobile app CR3AMnCR1MS0N, IUsafety, Dalton26 and 5 others 8 Quote

CSP Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 That depth chart is not the end all, be all. Changes will be made. And Tronti or Ramsey or even King could win the QB job. We have no idea who will show the best in camp..Sent from my SM-G935P using BtownBanners mobile appTronti will not factor in this year.. If so, we will be in deep trouble. Quote

Yeah no offense to Lagow, but he's a redshirt senior and turns 23 at the start of the season. If it hasn't clicked for him by this point then I'm doubtful that it ever will. WayneFleekHoosier Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Take away the 4-5 boneheaded plays by Lagow per game he's a good/great QB. That's fixable. If not, staff will try someone who is capable. Diamont was never really a true option for us. I'm sure the staff wanted to trot him out there at times last year but they knew. 8bucks Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Sudfield really wasn't that consistent either until his senior year right? He shared the position his first two years and was injured his junior year. He did have star wars numbers and that puts him ahead of RL but some of those are related to Wilsons offense, playing for several years and having a good senior year. So I am hopeful RL has a similar jump in performance his senior year but if he does not then have the young guys ready to go. Quote

He put up pretty solid numbers his sophomore year despite sharing the job - 2500 yards and 21 touchdowns. Interceptions is the big difference between him and Lagow. Sudfeld threw 20 during his entire IU career, Lagow threw 17 last season. Crimson and Cream and ThompsonHoosier 2 Quote

No pressure and the ball just goes to the D like they were the target. That is a concern for sure with him. I just did not think it was fair to compare his one year to this idea that he can't be as good as Suds. It is not likely that his Sr year will match Suds' but we may not run that kind of offense anyway and if he protects the ball better we may not need mega numbers. Hoosierfan2017 1 Quote

Yeah I'm hoping we run more and throw less this year. If he's slinging it 40+ times a game like he did several times last year then we could be in trouble. If we can get him to be a game manager that doesn't turn the ball over then we should be ok. 8bucks and Crimson and Cream 2 Quote
