Well we don't need Lagow to be the next Sudfeld; we just need more consistency and less turnovers. The defense should be able to keep us in games, we just can't afford to throw 4 interceptions in one game.

And Lagow has yet to show he can even do that. Look I get why people are hesitant to play a young QB, but unless Lagow shows he's improved by a large margin, he's a bad QB.

That depth chart is not the end all, be all. Changes will be made. And Tronti or Ramsey or even King could win the QB job. We have no idea who will show the best in camp..

Tronti will not factor in this year.. If so, we will be in deep trouble.

I can't think of how many tip balls, bad blocking or wrong routes cause INTs last year. Crazy amount.

And I can think of a lot of near INT's he got bailed out on. It works both ways.

That's every QB. He had a large amount of one's that wasn't his fault. He'll be fine .

Yeah no offense to Lagow, but he's a redshirt senior and turns 23 at the start of the season. If it hasn't clicked for him by this point then I'm doubtful that it ever will.

Take away the 4-5 boneheaded plays by Lagow per game he's a good/great QB.

That's fixable. If not, staff will try someone who is capable.

Diamont was never really a true option for us. I'm sure the staff wanted to trot him out there at times last year but they knew.

Competition breeds success. We had none last year. I think we do this year.

Sudfield really wasn't that consistent either until his senior year right? He shared the position his first two years and was injured his junior year. He did have star wars numbers and that puts him ahead of RL but some of those are related to Wilsons offense, playing for several years and having a good senior year.

So I am hopeful RL has a similar jump in performance his senior year but if he does not then have the young guys ready to go.

He put up pretty solid numbers his sophomore year despite sharing the job - 2500 yards and 21 touchdowns. Interceptions is the big difference between him and Lagow. Sudfeld threw 20 during his entire IU career, Lagow threw 17 last season.

Some of RL's picks last year were just terrible. No pressure and the ball just goes to the D like they were the target. That is a concern for sure with him. I just did not think it was fair to compare his one year to this idea that he can't be as good as Suds. It is not likely that his Sr year will match Suds' but we may not run that kind of offense anyway and if he protects the ball better we may not need mega numbers.

Yeah I'm hoping we run more and throw less this year. If he's slinging it 40+ times a game like he did several times last year then we could be in trouble. If we can get him to be a game manager that doesn't turn the ball over then we should be ok.

Agree. We need a back to step up. We Had the luxury of JH and TC for a stretch. Unique talents.
