Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Maybe we should become known as the Pillsbury Dough Boys after tonight! Let's hope we don't have another night like this again this season in terms of the 26 TOs. 61% shooting from the field and a 55-20 rebounding advantage. Probably not an overly wise scheduling decision. Hoosier Dave 1 Quote

IUsafety Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Three guys from Huntington Prep were at the game along with another player. Couldn't tell who he was but some people around me thought it might have been Robert Phinisee. Can't confirm that though.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Alford Bailey, rebelhoosier848891 and WayneFleekHoosier 3 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Just like players are more upset after a loss I wonder if they're just as bored or more bored with games against turrrrble teams? It looked like TB was bored and not interested. I hope we come out against IPFW a little more fired up. These 8 cakes are going to be hard to watch. MikeRoberts, DChoosier and Alford Bailey 3 Quote

Basically just exhibition games so I could see them being bored Quote
DChoosier Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 What do we get out of games likes this? I understand the money and win/loss angle of scheduling cupcakes but we have too many absolute bottom of the barrel cupcakes. Why not schedule 100-150 ranked or so cupcakes like Indiana State, Valpo or Vermont instead of the dregs of the basketball world we have on tap including Miss Valley State (Sagarin has them at 349 out of 351 teams) and SIUE (#316). My apologies to MS Valley State but there is NO WAY they should step on our floor unless they are on an Assembly Hall tour. I am not saying we need to play 8 top 25 pre conference teams, and am very happy with the KU/UNC/Butler/Prostitute U games at the top end of our pre conference schedule, but Fred needs to upgrade the cupcake lineup a bit. 8bucks and MikeRoberts 2 Quote

The upsides I see is that Crean gets more time to rest starters for the big ten season. As well as try out lineups and give young players more PT. Quote

The IPFW is a solid game too. I'm happy for that game in Fort Wayne. We need to upgrade the schedule to be in a better position for a good seed come March. A couple 300+ cupcakes are good to get the frosh some run but when the majority of your OOC games are against 250+ something is wrong. Quote

You could have similar opportunities against teams in the 150-250 range or limiting the 250+ games to a handful and not the majority of your OOC games. Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 First---I am tired of this no TV stuff. Next---I am tired of playing cupcakes which make for sloppy games and a ridiculous amount of turnovers. Ready to play better competition so the team doesn't just have to go through the motions! It's going to be a fun year---but for once we can look forward to the meat of the schedule. MikeRoberts, Crimson and Cream, Napleshoosier and 2 others 5 Quote

Liberty, Miss Valley State and SIUE should be upgraded to Indiana State type teams. There is a reason we won the Big Ten and got a 5 seed last year. The team is not motivated by these games and it hurts us with the committee. Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Blackmon ----you da man! We all bashed you a lot last year----but this year you have come to play. You have been the most consistent scorer and your rebounding numbers have been strong---9 tonight! Awesome board work for a guard! Now---don't get a big head---you're no Priller----but we're sure glad you're back this year! Keep shooting the 333333333333333333333333333 ball! HoosierAloha and HoosierCoop 2 Quote
