  The difference between Vic and Troy is that Vic was a worker. He constantly worked at getting better - and it showed. Oh, and Vic was never involved with failed drug tests and suspensions.

  Yowza! By comparison Kevin Wilson makes $1.3M. While I'm certainly not okay with how bad we've been for so long, I can see why it's so tough for programs to move up to that next tier in the football hierarchy when I see stuff like this.

Scruggs is the real deal. Especially as a Sophomore. Brunk was soft. Shorter, smaller South kids were bullying him down low. Didn't do much of anything to impress me.

Explain? I think it would be good for program. We just played the most exciting game of the year on a neurtral court vs. Louisville. Kids being recruited care about these games. JBJ & Hanner seemed to be extra excited to play in this type of atmosphere. I do not see anything stupid about it. On top of that if the details are correct we would have 3/4 games in IN. Would I rather them just play in Bankers? Yeah, but trust me 17-18 yr old kids will think this is great. I am not saying that I want to recruit players that 1 and done, but for a guy coming in that knows he is one and done this could be a deciding factor for him to chose IU.

I think it is really hard to judge if someone is playing with heart or not. It's like the classic Knight press conference about getting your game face on. What does playing with heart even mean and how do you as an outside observer know if someone is playing with it? Being selfish or making mistakes says nothing about playing with heart. A recent player who made a lot of selfish plays that led to mistakes was Victor Oladipo as a sophomore. He took at least one ill advised jumper per game and had multiple costly turnovers that are very similar to what Troy does. Anyone else remember Victor nearly losing the Kentucky game for us on the 2nd to last possession of the game? He wanted to be the hero and tried to spin through 3 defenders in the lane. Troy may or may not improve as his career goes on. I think he improved significantly towards the end of last year and his baseline cuts have been next level this year. He needs to harness that and learn his role as a finisher. It is foolish to write him off.

I have been a fan of IU basketball since the late 70's.   To be able to discuss Hoosier basketball on this large of scale is awesome to me.  Unfortunately, with any large group discussion, you will get all sorts of personalities.  Those that shouldn't be on this site I have full confidence in our MODS for handling.   To keep going on historically as a fan, we have never really had to deal with off the court issues, team chemistry, etc.  It was never tolerated from Knight.  This isn't a comparison by any means but simply different times we are working with.  AAU has really tainted the college basketball scene and it is a really big business industry.   I for one would love to banter about just basketball, unfortunately with technology and other issues, we cannot achieve that.   As a fan though, I can't say that I am totally happy with the state of our program but we ALL have to understand how to express it in a manner that is suitable for all to comprehend.  We also have to respect the fact that we will never be in total agreement.   As much as I dislike it, our team and fan base has evolved.
