ElectricBoogaloo Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 So why all these comments from the program about how hard it is to lose Collin when they haven't said anything about the injury itself? It certainly sounds like a season ending injury but for some reason they won't just come out and say it. Quote

Trish Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 The ACL bug has hit the IU locker room again. Seems like every year.. The one thing i'm worried about this year is injuries. We have some very injury prone players such as James, Josh, Tommy, and Davis. They all have injuiry histories that make me a little nervous. Losing Collin is a huge blow to us. While he may not provide the greatest defense in the world, he was very good on the offensive end of the court. Freddie and Morgan will have to step up big. HIPPA does not prevent them from saying he is out for the season. That statement doesn't include any protected health information and is a lot less specific than the statement they released yesterday telling us that he had knee surgery. Quote

Again, HIPPA isn't some overarching law that suppresses even the allusion to medical information. There is a very specific definition for what is protected health information. They are absolutely allowed to say whether they expect him to be out for the season or not. Quote
HoosierAloha Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Maybe they don't know if he'll be out for the season...? There's still about 3 months before the B1G season starts. Hovadipo, Walking Boot of Doom and IUsafety 3 Quote
KB0 Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Heard from a little bird that he's going to miss the season and the team doesn't want to announce it yet. Hope that's not the case. HoosierAloha and hsrtxp 2 Quote
Beowulf50 Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 I feel bad for Collin, the team, and us fans! This sucks! A senior in this situation after all the hard work they have put in... Very sad! GloryDays, hsrtxp and IUsafety 3 Quote

hoosierpap Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Believe Crean mentioned a redshirt being available if needed today at the presser Quote
HoosierAloha Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Man, really hate to see him injured again. Get well soon and do your thing for IU while coming back from your injury. Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Extracts from Indpls. Star update on Colin. http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2017/01/02/collin-hartman-return-season-would-really-hard/96080102/ Tom Crean admitted Monday that it “would be really hard” for him to see Collin Hartman return this season, after undergoing knee surgery in late September." "..On Hartman, though, talk is more of redshirting than of a return. “We talked about that from the very beginning, so that’s not anything we discuss now,” Crean said of the redshirt. “He’s put a lot of time into this program. It’s not anything we’ve started to look at and say we need to plan for this or that. It’s not like that. Not yet. Not now.” Quote
recker222000 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Surprising to me since he's seemingly had an aversion to redshirting ever since his arrival.Yep crean does not redshirt and as of right now he will have more player than grants. People will be creaned.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Quote
Hoosierfan2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Is Crean staying quiet on this because he doesn't want it to affect recruiting? Seems like an obvious redshirt situation unless Collin decides to move on, which I can't see happening. Quote

Same reason last year they never came out and said Blackmon tore his acl. Rookie33 Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 Collin deserves another year - Priller, Gelon and Freddie may not be back. I read a tweet that McSwain didn't have his jersey on during Saturday's game -- anyone have intelligence on that?? ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
