KingPG21 Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 So the Colts released a list of 6 guys they are pursuing for the open GM position. If we hire Ballard I would be ecstatic. As close to a home run hire as you can hope for. IUfan_Charlie, Dalton26 and CR3AMnCR1MS0N 3 Quote

Josh Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 He helped build the bear defense and the chiefs. He's been widely regarded as a great eye for talent and the next big time GM. All the candidates had resumes. And (sorry mdn) but building the Bears does nothing for me.Dalton, earlier you said Ballard was your choice. What made him stand out? I'm not necessarily pessimistic here, just curious about the optimism.FIRE HIM! This is embarrassing WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
Dalton26 Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 His drafting history, he specializes in drafting defensive talent, and the fact that he's been so sought after around the league by other fans and teams. Matt Miller who is an NFL draft scout has been singing his praises for years and was dying for the 49ers to sign him. Josh 1 Quote

He built our defense when it was actually good in 2 drafts. Lol no offense taken. Outside of Forte he left a lot to be desired on the offensive side of the ball. Chiefs D was built the same from the DBs up. I honestly don't know how he will do in FA and you guys have a bit to spend. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Josh 1 Quote
TheWatShot Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Prepare for the meltdowns today after the press conference when a reporter will ask Irsay about the status of Pagano and he says he's still the coach. I'm hoping Ballard just needs a few days or a week to make his decision. No GM with half a brain would want to be saddled with Pagano as his coach. Quote
TheWatShot Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Well, guess I jumped the gun. Colts have already announced Pagano is staying. Get ready for another season of slow starts, hilariously awful game management and press conferences full of cliches and platitudes. Josh 1 Quote
Dalton26 Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 Pagano staying was already a done deal regardless of who they hired. Quote
Josh Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Pagano staying was already a done deal regardless of who they hired. That's messed up. It tells me that Irsay has more control over personnel than the GM.I've suspected this for a while now since multiple GMs and Coaches keep drafting offense in the first round while defense gets ignored. The only consistency is Irsay.FIRE HIM! This is embarrassing Quote
