WayneFleekHoosier Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 2 things we learned. Reinforced..1. This Defense can't handle hurry up offense. 2. I'm okay with Luck as my QB. He had 2 bad picks early. Both are probably on him. One thing I watch for closely on replays is WR seperation. The Colts WR corps don't separate well at all. Usually luck has to give them 5 seconds to separate vs 3.5. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Dalton26 1 Quote

Hovadipo Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 The NFL is such a joke now. And they wonder why ratings are down. I can't name one good referee in the NFL. There are many reasons the NFL is down right now. Refs are definitely a part of it. But it's just bad all around. I've probably watched an hour of non-Bears football all year and that's coming from a guy that has been glued to NFL RedZone on Sundays since it became a thing. I wish there was a middle-ground that could be reached, but it'll only get less violent from here. There's no going back at this point. I think another big part of it is over-exposure. I don't want 365 days of football. The NFL gets shoved down people's throats so hard year-round that it's getting stale. And it doesn't help that the product itself is currently a flaming bag of crap put on America's doorstep by Rog and Co. Give me the 20 or so weeks of actual football, the draft, and some training camp to get back in the mood. I don't need NFL Live on at 4:00 and NFL Insiders at 4:30 with NFL Fantasy Now on ESPN2 from 4:00-5:00 in June. Make me crave your product, don't make me ingest it without water. mdn82 1 Quote
Dalton26 Posted November 8, 2016 Author Posted November 8, 2016 I think the biggest issue with officiating isn't that they make mistakes it's that there is little to no repercussions when they make them. There was 3 mistakes within 3 seconds of game time. If a player criticizes the referee they get fined even when the refs royally screw up. I think that's the biggest issue. Quote

I was asking the OP who said my opinions on Andrew Luck were so bad that I don't know football and should stop posting about it. I was wondering about that's guy's opinion. I've always liked him, but that accusation needs a little more info. I've watched every single Andrew Luck snap as a Colt. I may be wrong, but how many snaps has he watched? That's relevant to that kind of accusation. mdn82 1 Quote
Josh Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Great win by the Colts! A total team effort. Pagano actually coached well and played the clock well. The defense did well, the line protected Luck. Bad Andy happened in the 1st quarter, but Good Andy did extremely well for the last 3. Great movement of the ball, great defense, great play calling. We didn't see the prevent defense that killed us earlier this year. As for stupid penalties, I only count the one, the roughing the passer call that cost us an interception. Minimizing stupid penalties was great. Great win. We're so close to first place again and there's a lot of season to go. Just make the playoffs and anything can happen. Quote

Does Andrew Luck make some bad decisions? Yes. Is his turnover "problem" (Dalton proved he's middle of the pack anyways this year, when it seems like your anti-Luck crusade started) many times due to having an absolute garbage roster around him? Absolutely. I don't know how you can expect him to perform any differently than he has with the offense he has to play with. They can't run, block, or get open. That's the recipe for a ton of turnovers. It doesn't take watching every Andrew Luck snap to realize that. Your point would be more valid if you were willing to even kind of budge, but you seem to insist that he and his turnover epidemic is the reason that the Colts suck and that couldn't be further from the truth. I would argue that what he's done with what he's been given to work with is pretty impressive. I'd kill to have Andrew Luck in Chicago. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

Earlier you said you haven't watched 30 minutes of football this year outside of the Bears. Anyway, you have your opinion and I have mine. I'd rather keep it respectful instead of saying the other opinion is so wrong that that person doesn't understand football and shouldn't post about it. That's very condescending. Luck has many times where his accuracy and/or decision making is terrible. Many people agree with that. Maybe you haven't seen those. Quote

The only one I remember was the obvious roughing the passer call (I think it was Kerr?) that cost us an interception. Otherwise it was a smart game. Quote
TheWatShot Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Texans and Titans both won today. Last week, Pagano said he was "excited about where we are right now." I hope a reporter asks him if he's surprised about being in 3rd place at the bye week. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
