I literally said he needs to be fired bud

My bad missed that - thought you were saying he should stay and only Reich should go. Wouldn't have replied as much if I knew that. Just have buddies who sing Ballard's praises similar to you do and I just don't get it

You can't be a great GM and have a "great eye" for talent and completely abandon the 4 most important positions in today's NFL. Very conflicting statements, no?

Our corners are good. WRs are obviously improving with Woods and Pierce.

LT.. drafted one. QB--- I mean, two of the last three were HOFers. Thankfully now, we can move on past Ryan easier than Wentz.

But I'll agree he hasnt been perfect, but he's still 50x better than Grigson, thats how bad Grigson was at his job.

As they should. He's good at his job.

LT? Ballard inherited Castanzo and never bothered finding a heir apparent until he'd already retired and due to that force a project OL into LT role on primetime football just this past week. He may be a project, but these games do count.

Fair he's better than Grigson, but Grigson was at least aggressive in free agency. I still don't know what Ballard is waiting on there

Gilmore? Yannick? I mean, I know Yannick was a trade.. but we still had to pay him quite a bit more than we did Ya Sin. Plus.. again, we had to devote a ton of resources to getting the Ryan trade done.

LT has been a problem because we basically had to pay Kelly, Smith, and Nelson. It just wasn't going to work money wise drafting one in the first rd the last two drafts... and actually, while we're on the topic..  Ballard mentioned he did not like the T draft class last year. You might see what happened to Leatherwood from the Raiders.

I don't think Raimann is a project. He's simply a rookie.

Yannick is awesome and Gilmore is a great addition. But Yannick was a cap casualty and Colts traded one of their busts (Ballard hasn't drafted CBs well at all)

Smith was given an extension a year early wasn't he? I believe he still had a year, if not 2, on his rookie deal when he was given his extension. He was a very solid college guard, had a very solid rookie season moving to RT, then given a huge extension based off that year as he was injured and had Covid the other years on his deal if my memory serves correctly. Maybe he gets it ironed out, but he was just moved from RT to RG last week, why? Odd look, no?

I've said before the defense is outstanding, it's just a shame that the offense is so putrid. That's another thing, Ballard's had plenty of cap space every season as GM, he could have added weapons for Wentz and for Ryan. Julio Jones was available just this offseason. Not saying he'd be a big addition, but I can't imagine it being a bad thing for Piece and even Pittman Jr to learn from one of the best WRs the league has seen the past 15 years.

From the outside looking in, I'm not sure the brain trust (Ballard, Reich and Irsay) are even on the same page. Clearly Irsay is of the belief this is a Super Bowl caliber roster based on the Jax loss and moving on from Wentz after the come-to-Jesus meeting last season. I just find it odd that once again Colts have dug themselves a hole to dig out of in September. The AFC South is so bad, that it may not matter, but I'd love to see the Colts score offensive touchdowns again. Would be a welcome change.

Slow Monday and it's my dog's birthday so nothing better to do. Cheers

Rock was a top 20-25 corner last year

I was told Michael Pittman Jr was a 2/3 WR in the NFL in this thread. Negative. He's a #1.
He's had 2-100 yd games and 1 TD this season. That's terrible production from a #1. Now it's certainly not his fault alone by any means but I still stand by what I said. Think he's a top level #2 with #1 potential.

He's top 10 in the NFL in receiving yards from a WR and missed a game.

He's a #2 that is closer to the #3 line than the #1 line imo. To be fair we should see what he's capable of with a competent QB throwing to him

This isn't what you said in your last reply, but this is one of the posts I was referring to.
