Interesting ...

Illinois State scores a TD in overtime, then tries the PAT. It's blocked and picked up by Montana State. They try to return it for what would be 2 points, but the kid is grabbed by the facemask and taken down.

However, since it happened on the PAT try in overtime, there's essentially no way to enforce the penalty.

It can’t be enforced on the ensuing kickoff?

They're in OT -- so there is no kickoff. Just a change of possession. Montana State gets the ball at the 25. Not sure why they wouldn't maybe put them at the 10 instead, but I guess they don't do it that way.

Illinois State finishes the season with either 7 or 8 blocked kicks. The final 2 completely blew their shot at an FCS title. Brutal.

The last few minutes of this game was a comedy of errors.

Oh. I guess there are niche applications there.

Something to be reviewed in the rulebook but maybe not a priority

That last minute of regulation in the FCS Championship was an excellent example of not being able to execute the small things. An entertaining game to watch and thought Illinois St. was going to pull it off. Special Teams play cost them the national championship.

'SETS ME UP' North Texas transfer portal quarterback commits to Oklahoma State in whopping $7 million transfer portal deal

As Jason Kirk w/ The Athletic recapped so nicely: "From walk-on to $7.5M in 365 days"

What top transfers get paid these days

Almost exactly one year ago, a North Texas walk-on freshman named Drew Mestemaker made his first start at QB since ninth grade. Filling in for Virginia transfer Chandler Morris, he loaded the box score in a First Responder Bowl loss to Texas State, and then most people resumed not thinking about the First Responder Bowl.

Fast forward exactly 365 days after that Jan. 3 bowl: Mestemaker, FBS' only 4,000-yard passer this season, agreed to follow coach Eric Morris to Oklahoma State. A walk-on just 12 months prior, Mestemaker now has a two-year deal averaging $3.75 million per season, the Tulsa World reported. You love to see it.

Demond Williams to the portal, with a no contact tag. Some huge gigantic tampering with that one. Brutal loss for Washington.

Miami? LSU? Wild.
we play in Seattle next year, that game just got even easier

Believe once upon a time he was committed to Ole Miss, so…

I seem to remember during 1 of the UW games 1 of the announcers kind of suggested that he was 1 of those kids who’d done a bunch of the commit/decommit dance.

I had that somewhere between our 2nd to 4th toughest game.  I’d say now it’s one of 6 conference games that will just be Ws.

“Tough” games next year amount to

OSU at home will be a clash  almost certainly college game day

Michigan on the road might be hard.
USC at home might not be a gimme

His 247 timeline is something. Ole Miss commit, decommit, Zona commit, ENROLLED, signed, unenrolled (?) 7 days later with Fisch, off to UW, now…whatever this is. My guess is headed to Baton Rouge.

Doing this to the guy you did all that with is wild, especially a few days after re-upping. Schools gotta get some leverage back somehow.

Sounds like Washington might establish that precedent now.  Wonder if that leads to multi year NIL deals that have to be paid back if you leave.
