I saw somewhere that an assistant at Oklahoma might be the top guy because he has been an assistant at South Carolina. Also saw liberty coach and costal Carolina coach

Really, Hugh Freeze? (Liberty). He was too shady for the freaking $EC!

Shane Beamer, Frank's son. Regarded very highly in Sooner land ( and they aren't the easiest bunch to please). Gamecocks would be wise to pounce on him, has worked under his dad, Phillip Fulmer, Steve Spurrier, George O'Leary, Kirby Smart and Lincoln Riley.

Tom is a born and raised Hoosier. It's gonna take a whole lot more than South Carolina to tempt him.

I'm hoping we get a Mark Few situation in which the program he builds is the place no matter what.

I agree. I believe Allen wants to be at IU and appreciates getting his break there. It is HIS program now and he's on the cusp of surpassing Mallory to be the all-time IU football coach (suck it Corso!) Go anywhere else and you will be in the shadow of someone else and have sky-high expectations. Stay home and forever be the guy that made Hoosier football not totally suck!

Besides, playing OSU, Mich & Penn St every year is better than Georgia, Florida, Bama, Auburn, A&M and LSU regularly.

Yahoo! reported that Allen's buyout was $20 million, so even if South Carolina wanted to make a play for him, I don't think they'd want to pony up that kind of money, especially when they still owe Muschamp $13M.

And I'm not saying Allen will go anywhere, especially if he's making close to $4M a season, but remember: Tracy Smith was born in Indiana, wanted to be here, helped build up the baseball program into a national power and seemed as if he'd stick around a good, long time.
