One thing the committee did get right however, is keeping LSU out.  I was 100% certain that they would squeeze LSU in because of Simmons exposure.

Funny thing I noticed about our team when they found out the bracket..Rojo got a smug look on his face and said "5 seed?" These guys feel disrespected imo.

Yeah he was only on for 5 or so minutes. Basically stated he was grateful for the 5 seed and they were happy to be apart of the tournament. Brought up thy were all excited to be big ten champs and they talked about his play a little bit.

The Oklahoma AD (head of selection committee) found a way to get Tulsa in.  I wouldn't have been too surprised if the NCAA would have found a way to get the fighting Simmons in the field.

I wonder how many times the terms "marketing" or "profitability" were thrown around in the selection committee room, especially in our region.

 

It's like the committee is a bunch of CEOs who think they're the smartest guys in the room, rather than knowledgeable followers of college basketball.

Not trying to troll, but if I had a young team needing experience, and if I actually knew they'd lose in the first four in the NCAA tourney via a crystal ball, I would absolutely take winning the nit. Added experience, more practice, more games.
