Don’t you guys freak out about Darius’ tweet lol. That was to be expected. What ever the decision is, he will be the one to make it. I would do the same thing if I were him.

Garland's tweet is exactly why last night happened. Trusted people just want to be the first out there so they ruin relationships. As of last night's talk and today, I can only say so much. I very much like my job writing for IU lol and would like to not turn into Albers(on the outside looking in on most situations). That is why I waited till today to say anything about last night besides a select few pms. I absolutely love this board and respect the mods here, so I will let out the few things I hear every now and then, but I promise it won't be any sources that aren't very close to the situation or that I trust. Not backpedaling on what I said just cautious.

If Garland was that close to committing last night, I wish he would have gone ahead and done it. A week is an eternity in recruiting, especially this close to signing day. A lot could still happen to change his mind, and given how often we seem to be on the wrong side of that thing, that's what I'm fully expecting to happen here.

I don't know, it all just seems too good to be true. Maybe we just haven't been this close to landing multiple five stars in one class, maybe we've just been left at the altar one too many times with our biggest targets, or maybe it's just two decades worth of cynicism telling me it just won't happen...because it doesn't.

Or maybe things are different now. Guess we'll find out.
Agreed but I'm called a negative Nancy for that. All I seen are internet rumors and nothing concrete and your right a week is an eternity. I think our chances are good but I won't be shocked if he goes to vandy. Remember Billy Donovan was coming to iu?

Not sure why grown men are tweeting a 17 year old.

because i want him to become a HOOSIER, Damnit! Showin' him we (the fans) want him to be a part of our team. These kids love social media and telling him "Enjoy the visit to B'town" is not too creepy.

Patience guys. I want him to commit now too but he’s just gonna go on every visit out of respect to all the schools. There’s nothing wrong with that
Out of respect? If he's made a decision he's simply wasting that schools time and money. UCLA must still believe they have a shot or they would have cancelled the visit.

Wouldn’t you think UCLA would be used to this by now. I’m guessing he wouldn’t be the first athlete regardless of sport to do this. UCLA uses its location all the time as a positive when recruiting maybe this just happens to be a negative that the school is aware of

UCLA can believe that if they want. It’s not reality

That stuff isn't bad and a lot of recruits seem to enjoy it along with the happy birthday messages Romeo was getting.

But when people start tweeting them about internet rumors it gets a little creepy.

DG has to make an intensely personal decision at such a young age and in a public arena. That is tough. Hope the IU tweets aren’t too agressive, but I really want this kid in cream and crimson.

Haven’t been on these boards long; only a couple of years. Yogi, have always appreciated the knowledge and info you share. Journalism can be a tough place to be.

UCLA wouldn't cancel the visit even if they thought they had no shot. Having 5-star prospects on campus is good for the brand, regardless of whether they commit. Having lots of 5-stars around gives it an air of elitism.
