Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets

Remember how much some of us (including myself) wanted Justin Martin from Xavier? Well, he just left SMU to go pro. Like, effective immediatey.

Keith Frazier out indefinitely too. Bad week for SMU.

I saw a tweet from Jeff Goodman saying the coach who recruited Frazier has been put on leave as well and the NCAA is "on the case." Could be a really, really bad week for SMU. I hope they circle the wagons and play well the rest of the year, if only to help our resume for the selection committee.

Their program seems to be a little fishy. The Mundiay situation was a weird one as well. Now Martin leaves the program and its just all around weird

Larry Brown's no angel.

Coached at UCLA (1979–1981), leading his freshman-dominated 1979–80 team to the NCAA title game before falling to Louisville, 59–54. However, that appearance was later vacated by the NCAA after two players were found to be ineligible—one of the few times a Final Four squad has had its record vacated.

And yet, they can't find anything to bust UK. Smdh

With all the recent SMU trouble---investigations---you have to wonder if Shake Milton is reweighing his options.  If SMU gets rocked he can ask for a release and may look at his other two finalists again---- Oklahoma and IU.

I don't know if we have room---might depend on if we lose a guard or 2 to the pros or otherwise.

Worth watching.

Does anybody know if Austin has another year of eligibility?

From the Inside the Hall article about Austin's transfer to Butler:

"He received a medical redshirt for the 2012-2013 season after suffering a broken left kneecap, which means he’ll have two years of eligibility remaining. Etherington plans to graduate in May and is expected to be eligible next season."

His Kansas Natinal Championship in 1988 should have been vacated but the NCAA doesn't have the balls to ever do that. They only made Kansas ineligible to defend their title the next year. Funny how that works. Just look at UNC basketball for example. Cheaters win and nothing happens. Meanwhile Indiana gets their program decimated by illegal phone calls that aren't even a violation now. F the NCAA; wish they would get out of Indianapolis. It tarnishes a great city.

To be fair, it really wasn't Samsung's phone calls that destroyed the program.  It was the behind the scenes horror show of failed classes and failed drug tests that caused the need for the house cleaning.
