Not into photography so I'm curious as to what type of camera you use and roughly how close were you to the animals when you took the pics.  That's assuming you didn't just copy pics after doing a Google search!  :103:

iPhone camera for me but one our guides has great equipment that I’ll receive post-trip.

100 ft from the lions and hippos; REALLY close at times to other animals. Very glad the mama elephant that was pissed at us and ten feet from our open air Range Rover decided to turn back. Leopard had an impala up in a tree having a violent lunch 25 feet from us.

African sunset with the Mrs:

Its pretty nice, it starts to get cold in the mornings towards the end of the month. There's some nice foliage if you're willing to go the first couple weeks of October.

Lake Placid is in the middle of the Adirondacks, its a 4 hour drive or so away from the Finger Lakes.

I’ve spent the last week hiking in and around the Canadian Rockies with my family and IU hat proudly displayed. Middle of nowhere, in the mountains, and I get a Go Hoosiers without fail at least once a day!

Outstanding choice! Where are you?

Does anyone have experience with Finger Lakes, NY?

Went on northern route from Ohio to NJ years ago. Toured through Corning Glass. Then stayed in Ithaca. It's 'gorges'. Falls, lakes Cornell U. Lakes are sparsely populated. Rolling hills. Have toured 1000 islands, Montreal, Vermont, Lake George, Bush Kill Falls, Delaware Watershed, Princeton...Philly, DC.Skied Mt Snow, Killington, Okemo Mountain. There are some nice falls just SE of Buffalo. Hitting northern Rockies in a year. After 50th wedding anniversary next year to San Antonio. Lake Erie for 3 weeks this August.

Banff, Jasper, et al. Forays into Yoho and Kootenay. One day I hope to win the lottery and get a pass to Lake O’Hara. It was a crazy wet winter so a lot of stuff just opened. We saw 5 bears this year in a week alone.
