2015-16 Basketball Schedule

Recommended Posts

Does anyone post a projected SoS this early? I imagine ours is pretty solid as of right now.

I agree. With our cupcakes we always end in the top 30 due to a top team in B1G/ACC and conference. We should be top 10 for sure. It will only make us stronger in March.

We usually screw ourselves with 3 or more 300+ RPI opponents. If we could get those down in the 200-250 that would go a long way to increasing our SOS.

Kennesaw and McNeese are some of those 300's

True, but I really feel the overall strength will cancel those out (at least to the same degree other programs do). This is the most confident I've felt about our Non-con in a very long time.

Games against Duke and KU will help the SOS but instead of 300+ guaranteed wins why not go for 200-250 RPI guaranteed wins? That would increase our SOS that much more.

The best option is to just avoid scheduling schools in conferences like the SWAC and MEAC. Even the worst teams in the MAC or Horizon League would fare better for our SOS and if they happen to have a decent season, their RPI can creep under 200.

Jokes aside, their rankings last year were 154-KenPom, 158-Sagarin,and 199-RPI. This is the kind of non-marquee opponent that most of us were looking for.

OK...back to the Morehead jokes.

Don't worry, it'll be balanced out with a few that can't even be found on Google.

Whether we like or not... we have to schedule some schools from the MEAC, SWAC, NEC etc or else those schools athletics would cease to exist.

No one has said not to, but you can have too many and that's what we've seen our share of with Crean.  Have too many and the team isn't ready for B1G play.  You do need some easy wins though.

Whatsamatta U and WhotheFisthat State having athletics or not shouldn't be any of our concern though.

The Maui warmup game.

Little better than Morehead and Kinnesaw, I reckon..

More like Kennesaw than Morehead. 300+ last year in all rankings I could find.
