JBJ Freshman Highlights

Something I noticed while making this that I never really payed much attention to before and is not something you see much anymore is how much he follows the ball after his shot. Most guys will just stand there but right after he releases, more times than not, he's heading towards the basket. Luckily he doesn't have to worry about getting his rebounds a lot.

A couple times in the year, I would be so ticked watching the games, and he'd take a 3 when he clearly had an option to pass and I'd scream and shout at him for taking a bad shot and he'd make it. I would look like a fool. Other times, I was so hyped, it looked like we were coming back, and he took a 3 and I got my hopes up, he would miss it then the other team would go down and score. On his good days he is so fun to watch, when he isn't playing well, he's my least favorite player on the team.

Agree with this as well! JBJ and Troy are arguably our 2nd and 3rd best players after Yogi, yet last year they were also two of our more inconsistent guys. Understandable being young players, but if we're going to make noise nationally, those two guys have to be studs on a nightly basis.

It's also always puzzled me how JBJ can be the son of a coach (and really good player in his own right) and be SO fundamentally bad on defense. In terms of fundamentals and defensive principles, he's one of the worst players I've seen. He needs a monumental improvement in that area.

Somebody said it in a thread earlier and I couldn't agree more. We go as Jimmy (and Troy) goes this year. Yogi is our leader and best player, but to get to the next level, we need big boy play from Jimbo.
