Just an excellent family, an excellent student, and an excellent basketball player. mamasa, ElectricBoogaloo, ThompsonHoosier and 10 others 13 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Agree. I'd happily take Smith too. Here's the deal though. We are targeting a PG, Durham, Smith, Wilkes, and a Big man. That's a 5 man class. Hartman is gone. 1TB is gone. 2Blackmon likely. 3?OG possibly. 4?Priller. Grad transfer 5?Regular transfer.??That's a lot of things that have to happen to get to a 5 man class. A 4 man class seems for realistic. Then what? Still getting a Big? Still getting a PG? Is there room for 2 wings. This is the logic that makes me think we won't get 2 wings unless we don't take a PG. Or forecasting a mass exodus. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Hate the idea of losing Blackmon, OG, TB, and Hartman in one year. Will be hard to bounce back from that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners IUsafety and Crimson and Cream 2 Quote

But Wilkes is a must get for us to compete Quote
NoahW35 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 OG was apparently very close to leaving for the NBA this year so I would expect him to go if he's considered a first round pick. I think the class will be 5 and even could see 6 because that is just what Crean usually does. Hopefully we can get a commitment from Smith this weekend Stuhoo and ElectricBoogaloo 2 Quote

MikeRoberts Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 OG was close to leaving after last year? Might be true but seems contrary to everything out there Quote
ccgeneral Posted September 8, 2016 Author Posted September 8, 2016 @Jeff Borzello: ESPN 100 forward Justin Smith (No. 80) will visit Indiana this weekend. The Hoosiers have been receiving the most buzz in his recruitment lately, and will look to continue that momentum. Smith took an unofficial visit to Michigan last month, and then went to Xavier last weekend. He also has official visits set to Stanford and Villanova, while Wisconsin remains in the mix. bhaggard89 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 This is not meant as a knack at all, but his game reminds me a lot of Jeremy Hollowell. Quite smooth with a good all around game. I think he's ours to lose. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

HoosierAloha Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 CWat was the "Easy on a Sunday Morning" type of player. Hollowell was the "High AF on a Sunday Morning" type of player. J Smith doesn't appear to be in that same mold. I think J Smith would be closer to what we saw out of JMo his freshman year. That would be much needed if replacing OG along with Hartman. Justin Smith seems like the type of player that composes a solid core for 3-4 years while challenging himself as a student. I'm all in! Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 He seems like a smooth player. More of a 3 than a 4. I think of Morgan as more of a 4. Potential is there as a do it all type player. Didn't dominate the summer circuit but I like his potential and his character. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners HoosierAloha and IUsafety 2 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 His summer circuit stats leave a lot to be desired. I wonder why he didn't click. For players to make moves in rankings, the summer tourneys are paramount. 26% from 3, 40% FT. I believe he average 17/9 last year at Stevenson. Can't find advanced stats. Quote

Because he is a talented work in progress, not a freshman starter on a B1G contender. Quote
