I don't think what they did was THAT bad. But it's against the rules, they broke the rule, fine. They deserve to be punished. They reeeeaalllyyyy screwed themselves by hardcore lying about it though. That's what really sticks out to me. I don't hate the Patriots like Colts fans do so it isn't as big of a deal to me, so that's just a "neutral" party's take on it.

This.  Not only did he knowingly cheat, he lied about it.  What a scumbag.

How much slower does an under inflated football arrive to its target? Is it something a QB can compensate for during a game? I'm assuming most QBs throw an average pass with about 80% of what their capable of throwing. If a ball is under inflated can the QB make up for this by throwing 90% without giving the defender more time for the ball to arrive? Interesting debate

Seeing reports where NFL is considering a year long ban, man I hope so!  My guess is 4 game suspension.  It should be required that he be suspended for the Pats vs Colts game as one of his suspended games, even if its a one game suspension.

I'd be willing to bet anything I own he doesn't get suspended the whole year, if he even gets suspended at all. This guy is the most protected player in the NFL. Defenders get penalized for being within 2 feet of him after a throw.

We all knew that BeliD*** and Baby was lying at their press conferences right after it happen. It really ticked me off that Crean had that cheater Bill come speak to our Boys. Heck we only won 2 games out of 8 after the biggest cheater in sports talked to the team.

So the guy who knowingly broke the rules and then lied about it gets a 4 game suspension.  First game back will be at the Colts.

I think it's a just punishment. Hopefully it doesn't get knocked down to 2 games. And don't preseason games count as a half game for suspension anyway?

I think the punishment is right on the money as long as they don't take it easier after an appeal.

Nothing is enough. They are cheaters. Been doing this 10+ years. 2-4 games doesn't even scratch the surface to all the cheating they do. Can't erase all those wins and superbowls. Descpicable.

Grabbing the balls and deflating them secretly AFTER they have been checked by officials is unfathomable and shady as can be. Then to lie about it after being caught is even more embarrassing.

Belichick is found in no wrong doing. The team is fined 1 million. And loss of a round 1 draft puck in 16, and loss of a round 4 in 17.

Edit. The 2 locker room guys are suspended indefinitely. They cannot return without league approval.
