Yogi debating about entering the NBA Draft

Recommended Posts

You see him starting for an NBA team? If he makes it in the NBA I see him as a solid backup point who pressures the opponents backup point and gets a few minutes here and there guarding the opponents starting PG. Who else in the NBA has had a ton of success guarding Curry....?

The only one I saw was...no nevermind. But I did see...no not him either. But I actually think......yeah, no one can guard Steph.

One thing I want to add about going pro... Sometimes it is your best move to go pro and get drafted in the second round.

Hear me out:

Junior year- scouts are saying In a weak draft Yogi will be taken in the 2nd round.

Senior year - stronger draft, scouts saying he may or may not be drafted.

With that scenario, it's best to go pro your junior year and get drafted and try to impress. Much easier to make a team as a draft pick than a free agent. (I realize nothing is guaranteed, but if you aren't going to be first round either year, then go for it when you have best chance)

I was thinking along the same line, I saw one 2015 mock draft and it projected Yogi going in the second round, a couple of 2016 mock drafts did not list Yogi in the first round. So if you are going to be selected in the second round might as well be in 2015. Not too sure how much reliance a person should put in the mock drafts, but like just about everyone else I figure those guys know a lot more than I do.

All it takes is for one team to really like you.. I like yogi as an NBA role player and backup pg on a good team and maybe a borderline starter on a really bad one. I think he has the talent offensively but he will struggle defensively. That said, you only get one senior season in your entire life. I would seize that opportunity to improve if I were him.

Just taking a quick look at 2016 draft boards, it's a pretty weak PG draft. Marcus Paige, VanVleet, Trimble, Isiah Briscoe, and a couple others. If IU and Yogi have a good year (which I see happening) he could sneak into the first round, which is a guaranteed contract.

Honestly, I could see To go being a stud in the league. He's got great handles, can, shoot, drive, etc.. We all know there's not much defense in the NBA. Nonetheless, Second round picks can become studs. For example, the 43rd pick this past year is dropping 21 ppg..

I may as well put much two cents in. I think going pro right now for yogi would be a colossal mistake. He has no height and has not proven he has consistent nba range shot. I really dont think he could make a team and or stay on one at this point.

@ebosshoops: General consensus from NBA personnel at & after McDonald’s workouts/game was that they didn’t see any surefire 1 & done types in 2015 class.

Sounds like the 2016 draft could be a little thin.

They must've closed their eyes when Jaylen Brown was on the court. If he gets some consistency in that jumper, he will be a force in the league.

I thought Simmons was pretty good too. Handles and passes the ball really well and is very fast in transition.

Yeah I didn't even think about him. He's impressive. LSU is going to be fun to watch next year with he and Blakeney.

Wasn't the 43rd pick Walter Taveras?

They'd be even more interesting if Mickey and Stokes stayed. They could be pretty dangerous with that team.

Have both declared? I know 1 did for sure but wasn't sure if both did.

Martin? Or am I missing a Stokes somewhere?
