Honestly would be a good fit.  Football school that doesn't care about basketball.  He can have down years without people getting too ticked off and they will celebrate when he has his one good year every 6-7 years.

Not sure if you know or not, but for everyone else...Titus is a huge IU fan that walked-on at OSU. He absolutely hates Crean and thinks Barnes is the Crean of the Big 12. He's hated Crean for the better part of 3 years. He also writes for Grantland and has a hilarious book about his years walking on at OSU. I highly suggest it.

I saw where a mod on another board said he heard the rumors of Crean to Texas a few weeks ago. Not saying it's gospel, just saying the thought has been out there.

That rumor is definitely out there. I've heard it from a buddy who's connected. But every job that's opened up this offseason has been mentioned in the same sentence as Crean. I believe nothing until I see ink on paper.

IMO it's wishful thinking.  If and when (hopefully sooner rather than later) Crean leaves I don't see him going west of the Mississippi.  Seems like most of his recruiting and connections are eastward.    And yes, I know Hoetzel was from CA but he was attending prep school out east and yes, I know next year's recruits are both from MO, but I still think his future lies east of the Mississippi.

The only schools I've seen for Crean were Texas and PITT (if Dixon goes to DePaul). The media blew up the Bama stuff and Crean point blank said he wasn't going to Bama. The Texas and PITT rumor were from guys who have sources and were being nice enough to share.

He has recruited the South and Texas is a huge recruiting hot bed. Dallas and Houston produce quality players.

At UT it won't matter who gets hired they will be able to reruit the state. Texas is a UT-Austin state

I cant see Texas as dumb enough to hire Crean. A football school, yes, but their basketball program is light years ahead of ,say, Bama.  After him beating Kansas I think this is all Greg Marshall.
