Purdoo-doo versus the Cheatin' Stinkin" UK Cayuts: Who Ya Rooting For?

Recommended Posts

I think UK should win so that we can beat them in the Elite Eight before we beat Wisco in the Final Four and Duke in the championship game.

I think my head would explode if that happened..

Also: if that happened all the Crean haters would be more upset that they are stuck with him than happy for the win!

First, I don't see UK losing at all. But if Purdue can get through their first round game, you'd have to think A.J Hammonds will be pretty focused for playing UK. Kid would have a lot of dollars to be gained by playing well against UK. Put up 20 and 10 in a close game against UK, and Hammonds could get himself into the first round of the draft. Lot's of motivation for him to play well, and when he plays well they can be pretty good. Not UK good, but it is an "Any Given Sunday" kind of situation.

Let's hope he doesn't miss the bus!

Although I am on record elsewhere stating the only team I would root for Purdue against was ISIS, I recant that statement for this particular game. I would LOVE to see ANYONE beat Kentucky, keep the 76 Hoosiers as the last undefeated team, even to the point of (yes, choke) Purdue doing it. And yet, of course I would really prefer Cincinnati to do the deed.

Dream scenario for me:

Kentucky and Purdue players approach center court for the tip off. Both teams are tense as the referee strides to the circle, preparing

for the jump ball. Willey Stein looks at AJ Hammons, and says, "How do you like your Nexus?", to which AJ replies, "Not half as much as I like

your mother"? Stein commits three personal fouls and one technical for choking, within the game's first ten minutes; Purdue builds a 10 point lead by halftime.

In the second half, Calipari, sensing that the game and subsequent unbeaten season is slipping away, offers any of his players $1,000.00 to take Hammons out at the knees. It isn't until Calipari contacts each of their agents to assure them that he's "good for it", that they agree to take action. By this time however, Purdue has built an 18 point lead, and although Hammons is carted off the court, Purdue's subsequent five guard lineup is able to withstand Kentucky's late charge, hitting 10 straight free throws down the stretch to derail Kentucky's magical ride. The Wildcats return to the land of toothless women and inbred children. On the bus ride home, tired, dejected and frustrated, many players wonder aloud if they could have gotten more money had they gone to Syracuse.

Purdue, on the other hand, having lost AJ Hammons to a broken knee cap for the rest of the tournament, gets soundly thrashed in round three by a game Buffalo squad, 93-57.
